Its so annoying when a company website tells you that a certain thing is important, and if you need further information on it they then send you to their home page! As if I’m going to find those details on there?
Here’s an example. I login to my Verizon account online, and they pop up a special notice about their use of my information, summarized below:
“We may use this information, and share it with our affiliates and agents, for marketing purposes, without further authorization by you. A more complete description of the Verizon companies and their service offerings is available at www.verizon.com.”
Okay now, do you think I’m going to find any list, of which companies that Verizon is going to share my intimate details with, on their home page? Aarrgh. How about giving me a link to a page that explicitly details who their partners are? Would that be too much to ask?
