My Biggest Complaint About Webkinz and the Issues We Face

We can’t rename our rooms; we keep getting the error “Oops! You’ve used a word that is not allowed” (we’ve tried kitchen, bedroom, roomone, room, blueroom, etc). Been going on for 2 weeks, no replies at all to requests for help.

One of our accounts can’t get into the tournament area. It keeps saying “the tournament area is closed”. Other accounts can get in just fine. My biggest complaint about the whole thing is that there has been no support again for 2 weeks.

I also cant change a room name and get the same message you get. my daughter got this for christmas and we have 2 rooms and wanted to call them mainroom and toyroom. we went to the website and sent them a message in the my question isnt answered section here. we got an email from them sending me back to the website which didnt help. this has been since about 3 days after christmas. terrible help.

Count me in for lots of problems. Could not log in, one of new codes didn’t work, some items wouldn’t come out of our dock, problems with some games acting weird, and I just checked the room problem and we can’t change the room names either! This has been happening since the holiday. I am tired of this! I also have gotten no support or help from Webkinz except for the time our code was coming up as not valid. I wish they could fix their problems once and for all.

6 year old so dissapointed that she actually cried herself to sleep today. She has gotten 8 webkins in the last month, and all was well for about a week, but now “unable to log in at this time try again later” message appears EVERY time we try to log on. This product was hyped up by Ganz to be a “great christmas present” , so they should have been prepared for the increase site traffic following the holidays. Unfortunately, Webkinz cannot be returned to the store, so we are all pretty much screwed and out of alot of money for nothing.

My son just bought his first webkinz, and it let him sign up, but it won’t let him log back in or change any of his information. I have contacted Customer Support through email since the phone won’t let you through to a live person, and all I got was a link to their website to the same pages where I had indicated that it wouldn’t let me/my son change anything or log in. It’s been 6 days since I emailed them back, and no response to the second email yet!

I’m having the same trouble as everybody else my little girl is getting really mad. and webkinz will not answer any emails sent from their “contact Us” link. iwe need a REAL working email, not some fake. we are tired of not getting a response from them. their is another company with the same idea and its very similiar to Webkinz. its called Shinning star. you should check into it. looks to be better than Webkinz.

Seriously- someone should think about a class action suit against them. We tried to use it as a reward system ( you know.. homework, chores, bath then webkins type of thing)- but it doesn’t work when the site is always down.. so my kids don’t bother anymore.

I have not been able to get on webkinz for 3 days - missed the Valentines Day gifts. I tried Firefox and Internet Explorer - neither one works. Wrote to webkinz and to Ganz - no answers.

I had a similisr problem, I could get on but only for a few minutes,and then got kicked of. this is what I did and it seems to have helped. I have 4 computers on a network. so I called up my Internet Provider and told them to turn up my speed as fast as it would go. right now im at 10 Mps downstream and 8 Mps upstream. one of te computers I was using was a couple of years old so I checked the network card. it was about half bad. so I replaced it ($16 at Wal Mart). this seems to have fixed my problem considerably. I dont get kicked off nearly as much and by increasing my ISP speed I can get more data transfered in less time = more time on webkinz world and my lottle girl is happier.

I cannot change my room names either. Every time I try it says “Oops - you have used a word that is not allowed”. I am only trying to name the rooms “oudoors”, “kitchen”, “bathroom”, and “party room”, etc. Has anyone heard how to make this work? My friend has 11 Webkinz and she can name all of her rooms. I am tired of trying and am ready to give up. My mom emailed through their website last week and we still haven’t heard anything back.

I finally got a response from Ganz on room names, they say that their dictionary is very limited and won’t let you use certain words(no kidding!),Since Ganz is a china based company the probably cant translate chinese to english very well,,by the way if your wondering why there are no webkinz charms around, its because they have all been recalled due to lead paint.

My daughter has lost several items when attempting to adopt new pets or put in new codes from trading cards etc. It logs her off in the middle and she never receives the items, they disappear. I sent emails to support and got a response back that basically was accusing us of giving someone else our password and someone stole them or that our rooms were too over crowded or our connection wasn’t fast enough. Well I know for a fact that none of these are true. Pretty sad when a company can’t stand behind their product. They are taking advantage of kids to make money!

here is a response I got from Webkinz regarding missing/lost items.I think this came from a real,live person and not a bot that sends you back to the questions and answers sections no matter what you ask. I think my family will be moving on to another online game,like shinning star,Neopets or Toontonwn or something similiar.. Also I think Webkinz and Ganz read this forum daily,to see what we think. maybe they’ll get the message and clean up their act before we all move on to something better managed and user friendly, after all its just a online game. its not like its real money,real objects and as far as Ganz goes,real live people. If an item or money goes missing, it is most likely that someone knows your username and password (or secret code) and has accessed your account. If someone has removed or sold an item, it can NOT be reinstated. Please remember that your accounts security is your responsibility.

Another potential reason for missing items/Kinzcash is a minor glitch in Webkinz World. While this is extremely uncommon, it is possible with accounts that have items improperly stored (items blocking doorways, overloading rooms excessively with items). We have also had problems from day one with my kids webkinz. First it took my daughter almost three weeks ro get her webkinz running.we could not get into her room but that is the only place you can send them a message. Also we can not rename any of the rooms no matter what words we use. My son bought a webkinz studio and some characters for it at the begining of february but still can not use it. It says it is being repaired? And my other issue is half the time you cannot log in or when you play games it logs you out without rewarding you with the kinzcash you earn. This is very frustrating for the kids. I think it would be such a big deal if it was free but people spend money on this for their kids enjoymen.

Does anyone know how to rename a Webkinz? I received two of them at the same time and put the wrong name in with the secret code and now I can’t change it to the name I really want it to be. Does anyone have any secrets on how to do this? PLEASE HELP!

as far as I know, it can’r be done. uless you hack into their puiny server and do it yourself. once a pet is named it’s a done deal,just like creating a username. I made a typo when I typed in my username and now i’m stuck with it. I’ve emailed Ganz and Webkinz and they say it cannot be done. only other option you have is you can now finally rename rooms(at least where I live). so you could put one animal in one room and rename that room.and put the second animal in the second room and rename that room. assuming their diffrent animalas.

I have personally found out from experience that if you try to rename your webkinz room something like…toyroom or toy room. It will say that those words are inappropriate. However, if you type in Toy Room with a space and the first letter of each of the words with a capitol letter then it “usually works” The reason I say “usually” is because this trick doesn’t work for every word out there. For instance I tried to type in…Living Room, and it still caught me for an inappropriate word. 90% of the time though, this trick is successful. Hope this helps!

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SPACE OUT THE WORD LIKE…toy room, bed room,play room, back yard ect. THAT’S BECAUSE YOU CAN’T HAVE THE SAME LETTER MORE THAN ONCE IN WORD ECEPT ROOM. WEBKINZ WORLD HAS rooms’ called play room, kitchen,family room,spare room,plant room bath room. IF THAT DOES NOT WORK THEN COME BACK FPR FUTHER NOTICE!

if you buy wacky zongoz that makes 6 sounds . with the included feature code: BEWARE IF YOU BUY THIS ITEM.

all you get is 1500 kinzcash thats it,no extra gifts,no nothing. IT IS NOT AN ONLINE PET LIKE THE OTHERS THEREFORE IT IS WORTHLESSS. It talks and thats it. I just bought 2 for my little girl and she cant do one #$@% thing online with it. except play extreme wacky zingoz. big deal. she hates them, to bad I cant take them back. $24.00 down the drain.

i have not been able to log in for around two weeks i can’t log on my brother can’t log on eather. we tried everything but it wont work.
he can’t change his name from like 1923jjkj335 to garden or backyard but on mine it worked, if you have any suggestions just do some thing to help all the webkinz owners that are worried. also when i log in it says done with a blank screen

is this your first time to use Webkinz,if it is you may need to download Adobe flash player at www.adobe.com (its free) or try changing your screen resolution to 1024×768. this will make your screen appear smaller. but it should fit fine. this should take care of the blank screen issue and let it all load. if this doesnt work drop me a line and we’ll try some other things. I’ll be watching this site daily.

I’m sorry to have to tell you this but if you bought the talking waxky zingoz all you get is 1500 kinzcash. thats it. nothing else.no gifts and a game that has 2 extra options. but thats it. if I had known I would have never bought the one I did either.

Everytime I clear my temporary files in IE7, it take 20 or 30 tries before I can log in again. I click on Log In and then it goes to a blue screen but will not load. Do not have this problem with firefox. Once I finally get logged in, everything is fine. But as soon as I clear my temorary files, I have a problem. Very frustrating. Does anybody else have this problem?

I don’t know why people thought the Zingoz was a pet. It says on the Webkinz site that it was for a code only to unlock game. If you look under Pets and Stuff, it tells you what everything is. The game you unlock is better than the regular one that was already in the arcade. They had a lot of problems right after Christmas because so many were signing up, but it is much better now and they have fixed the naming of the room problems. This site is geared for kids so they have to be careful with names, etc because there are so many sickos out there. We’re real happy with the site, despite past problems. It seems to be running good now.

The last 2 days my kids cannot drag items into their pets rooms or drag items in the box to send to a friend using Firefox. It worked fine in Firefox until 2 days ago. When I load their rooms in IE it allows me to drag and drop but I don’t like using IE because it has other issues with Webkinz site. Is anyone else having this problem?
I have sent many messages to webkinz but no help. I just bought these for my kids 7 days ago and they are really disappointed. They can’t edit their rooms so what good is the whole thing? I also have tried clearing out the cache with no change AND I redownloaded flash player and still no change. This problem did not start until after webkinz big maintenance 2 days ago. Anyone got any ideas?

We’ve uninstalled Realplayer and still can’t access webkinz. All we get is a white screen and error message. It’s really frustrating. A week ago we weren’t having any problems at all.

I too, am having the same problems. My daughter has five of them and hasn’t had a single problem with them. My husband and I were having so much fun with hers that we bought ourselves one. Since then nothing but problems!!!!! I cannot join the tournament area I can’t invite friends ( the cell phone will come up for a split second then go away) and now the latest is I can’t log in at all!!!! The log in page comes up but when I type everything in and click “begin playing” nothing happens.
I’m getting more frustrated as days go on because not only can I not do anything my daughters doesn’t work anymore either!!!
The “webkinz support” area is absolutely ridiculous A simple phone number and a live person would be great!!!!!!!!
Its quite unfortunate that Ganz deals with customers this way they have an absolute goldmine you’d think they would do everything in their power to keep it that way!!!!!!!!! can anybody help?????

I, too, fell like all the money invested in webkinz is lost - such a waste. The tournament are is the most fun - and it just stopped working. I do manage to get the phone on, if I endlessly click on it and it happens to turn on. Then I wait while it “find an opponent” - and it never does. We have several computers in the house and have played against each other, but not since the stadium upgrade….can’t even “see” us WITH the phones on - what a horrible company that treats customers like this - leaves us hanging - no explanation or date it will be fixed. Been 2 weeks now?

Ok. Every time I try 2 make a webkinz account, I’ve done everything… now it’s time to make my pet’s name. I type the name, then my gender, but it says my secret code is WRONG!!! Seriously. I’ve tryed over and over and over! ugggggghhhhhh.

I recently purchased a webkinz for my child and we have really enjoyed going on it as a reward for doing chores and getting homework done. To the person who is having difficulty with your secret code: someone could have “stole” the code by guessing. Statistically speaking, this should be near impossible, but my cousin succeeded in it, so it’s not as impossible as one would hope.
Poppy, I think it is inappropriate for you to talk badly about a nine year old. Yes, the child shouldn’t have spoken like that, but she is just a child. Perhaps if you had reasoned with her she might have learned something rather than just speaking negatively about her.
Good luck with your webkinz, remember to read EVERYTHING very carefully! This has helped me a lot.

Webkinz needs some new technical staff. They had the monopoly and had a great thing going. Now I never want to buy my kids another one. We have not been able to play in the tournament area for 3 weeks. The Customer support is useless unless you have a common problem. They are blowing it big time!

Help! My son can’t log into his room for 3 days now, getting an error message that “Sorry, we had trouble loading a required file”. Very frustrating. Any tips or ideas (besides clearing cache, contacting ISP and downloading realplayer)? We have been on for 2 months and really enjoying ourselves. $200 spent so for to GANZ, not a penny more if they can’t get this resolved.

the unly thing I knw you could try is this, instead of going to www.webkinz.com, go to www.webkinz.com/us_en this is a diffrent server or a diffrent page on the server it has worked for those who still couldnt get in after u-installinf Realplayer. I use both addresses. if you still have trouble drop me a line,I’m here almost daily and will see if i can figure something else out. good luck.

I love webkinz but i agree that ever since the stadium opened the tournament arena doesn’t seem to anymore and i am sure more of us would rather have the tournament arena then the beauty pagents.
If you can get on it times out b-4 finding you an opponent and no they only have 2 colour room to change between b-4 there was something like 10.

webkinz if you read this please fix the tournament arena the best games are there and now noone can play them which means over time ,less people will try and will eventually give up all together.

My daughter’s account has been hacked into twice in two days. I have her codes and therefore I know that she has not given them to anyone. Last night the account that was hacked into, sent a “gift” to one of her other accounts. Interesting, since she didn’t do it. Perhaps there is something attached to these “gifts” that then allows the sender to be able to get into the receipients account. Ganz is useless, they simply don’t care. I am not spending one more cent on these products. Shame on Webkinz for not making their site more secure. It is heartless to cause children this much upset.

To let you all know…
Ganz has a list of words that are only allowed for your room name.
So thats why most of OUR words must be blocked..
It doesnt have something that bloacks swearing words.
Only something that only allows certain words.

Room naming has become even more bizarre. Previously, they wouldn’t allow much of anything except the animal type. You could have ‘Google’s room’ for example, but not ‘fluffy’s room’. But now, even that doesn’t work some times. I tried ‘Grey Arabian’s room’ and it wouldn’t let me use it. Not ‘Arabian’s room, either’. I eventually gave up and used ‘grey horse’s room’. I guess it wasn’t enough for them to keep raising prices and limiting availability, they also have to drive customers nuts.

This is a major flaw in the way Webkinz handles things. They have a very limited list of names that you can use. It’s not just proper names that are banned, it’s ANYTHING that is not on their list. Until recently, I was able to get around it by naming the room after the pet TYPE (not the pet’s name). That is, I could have a room named ‘google’s room’ or ’spotted frog’s room’, but not ‘Fluffy’s room’. I learned today that even this doesn’t work. For example, my daughter has a grey arabian Webkinz, but I can’t name the room ‘Grey Arabian’s room’. I had to settle for ‘grey horse’s room’. Webkinz customer support is worthless. If you even get an answer from them at all, their response is ‘that’s the way it’s supposed to work.’ Maybe if a million people write to them they’ll allow reasonable naming of rooms.

sounds like your daughter has been to the newly opened Trade Room and got a couple bad deals,This happens easily,The Trade Room is where your place up to 3 of your items up for trade and someone else puts up their 3 items and you can approve or trade any or alll of these items.,you can also reject any or all of the items. this is just what us sounds like to me.

sorry to hear about your problems,Webkinz customer support isnt very good. Unfortunately as far as I know there is no way to seperate the accounts. what you would need to do us buy another webkinz for one of the sisters who have joined accounts and register it as a new user. one sister will have 2 webkinz and the other 2 will have one webkinz. as far as I know Webkinz cannot die or be hurt by anything in webkinz world,they do get sick but they dont die.

Shelby, You’re missing the entire point. Most of the people here know how to change the room name. The problem is that Webkinz world won’t let you use most of the names that people want to use. As of now, there are few words that work other than the type of pet (”love frog’s room) and even that doesn’t always work.

I wish it were as easy as capitalizing the words, but it’s not. Capitalizing the words doesn’t help. Also, we have quite a few rooms where one of the words is not capitalized.

Hows this for an error. My niece has been trying for the crown of wonder for over a year. Today she finally gets the last gem she needs she has been looking for 6 months for one gem. Webkinz world locks up and she is out her gem and crown of wonder and can’t look again today. I emailed the at support at webkinz.com I only did this minutes ago. I also complained about lack of customer serivce. I copy printed the page so they could see what happened. She got back on and it locked up agin so I emailed them again maybe if people had a way to complain directly to them they would have to fix their system. Maybe its time to start calling the BBB . Its kids they’re taking advantage of.

It is Wednesday morning and I was on your “wonderful” website. Every time I was to go onto a game or anything it would not respond or would freeze and I have a perfectly well worked computer. I guess what I am trying to say is that your website STINKS. It has given me problems since the first day I got that stinky toy. So what exactly is the point of a website that you can’t even stay logged on for five minutes without getting kicked off or having your internet browser freezing up because your website is full of bullcrap.

I would like to enjoy your website but it obviously needs better bandwidth
capacity you need to on being able to take all the traffic going on your website.

I love Webkinz World! I have loved it since I got my first pet last
February. But I am starting to get fed up. I just got my 15th pet last week. So I got my 2nd exclusive bed. The next night my sister was going to go on Webkinz World for me, and she said it wasn’t working. I told her to let me try, and I did. Sure enough it wasn’t working. I would type in my username and password that I knew was right and then webkinz world would tell me that I should recheck my password.( I have tried over and over again since then.) I told her I would try the next day. Well long story short I haven’t been on my webkinz account with the 15 pets since last week. I didn’t want to miss getting the summer present so I made a new account and got the summer gift. I am still upset though that I may never see my old account again. I know a lot of my friends and family have webkinz and I will be sure to spread the word to everyone I know.

I have encountered the same problem on occasion but usually after i try a couple of times it lets me in. if you still cant get in you might try changing your password if you can get that far. if not you might try caps lock and see if that helps any.

My kids love Webkinz. My daughter has 5, both of my boys have 3. They have had a few problems. Cars stuck in doors and it freezes alot. There are XXXX’s where the user name should be. But for the most part they haven’t had any real problems. Most recently it freezes more than before. When adopting a new pet today, it froze up. We didn’t get to write down the birthday and such information. We logged off and got back on. The new pet was there, along with the gift items. I do wish Webkinz would allow to place rooms where you want to. As well as having newer items. The new stuff in the store have been there for a long time. Also, the customer service is very slow. I got a response when the car got stuck. Of course it was automatic response and it took a while for them to fix it. Finally it’s fixed. If they use the cars and such, they just put them back in storage when finished. Webkinz is such a great idea. Yeah it has alot of bugs to work out, but what website doesn’t have problems.

As far as I know only part of the site are down at the current time.the clubhouse went down about 7/11/08 “for major imptovemts” that will take “some days” according to webkinz. I’m not aware of any other parts of the site that are down. your phone may or mat not work depending on whats going on. and I’m not sure you can invite friends over or be invited to someone elsese house. I hope they get this fixed soon,I miss the trade room.

Sorry, but I quit cutting Webkinz slack on this when we hit the 6 month mark for the same problem. If there were any sign that they were addressing the problems, then maybe they’d get some slack. People have been complaining about the room naming issue for almost a year - and it still doesn’t work. Not to mention that the entire concept (”you can only name the rooms with words from our very limited list - which doesn’t even include all the animal types”) is foolish. Add to that the fact that their customer service stinks. I don’t mind so much that the price of the animals is now $17 in many stores. If they can get that kind of price, fine. But how about dedicating a few cents to customer service and hiring some programmers who know what they’re doing?

First, that’s “your”, not “you’re”.

Second, would you please read the thread before jumping in and making a fool of yourself? You can rename the rooms, but only with a very limited number of words. You can not usually use the pet’s name, and some times you can’t even use the animal type.

I too have had a lot of trouble naming my rooms. On two seperate occasions webkinz allowed me to rename my rooms. I was able to use word like “farm”, “fruit”, and “spooky”. None of them were capitalized and most the time even if i want to rename a room no matter what i type it wont allow it. I think its just sort of luck of the draw at this point. Regardless goodluck!

For those of you who are missing your dock items or things in your room try raising the “Local Storage” setting on Flash Player. If you right click when you are on your log in screen it give you the options of “Settings” or “About Flash Player”. Click “Settings” and go to the icon that looks like a folder. Slide the meter all the way to the right to raise the amount of space that Flash Player can use to store Webkinz information. I figured this out for myself after getting a response from an email I had sent to Webkinz advising me that I had too many items in my dock and I should get rid of them or I could let them do it for me…..as if that would have ever happened! Now if I could just get past this white screen aggravation………..

We love the trading room also, I wish they would hurry up! I am not quite so sure about the new area where the kids are actually able to communicate with other people. I will have to watch this area closely to make sure some freak isn’t on there trying to communicate with children. I understand they will be able to make their own “page” and put their interests, etc. That is a little too much like a “my space” page for me! We shall see!

Also, does anyone else have trouble while trying to play Atomicolicous? It is hit or miss whether the kinzphone will stay on or not. If it stays on…you get to play….if it turns off…you have to try again. This has been going on for months now! It is ridiculous! We have tried changing zones, etc….I think Ganz needs to pony up and go ahead and get that bigger server…I believe they can afford it!!

Supermodelz and Chef Challenge are not in the tournament arena any more. Is it just my site or are they really gone? Not that I could ever play them anyway. I have the same problem as Christie with Atomicolicious. I can sometimes play late at night but only once in a while.

I have had problems with my webkinz phone staying powered up which would give me access to the tournament arena and inviting friends to visit my room. I have been contacting tec support since the end of March with no assistance. When on the site my activities freeze up and I have to log out and log back in. Sometimes it helps and sometimes not. I would just like to be able to play games with my granddaughter who lives in CA, I live in MI. It is a very big dissapointment. Webkinz tec support say they are aware of the glitch but even with several e-mails on my behalf the corrections have not been made. I am anxiously waiting for help. Thanks for the chance to vent my frustrations……

My son’s 5th birthday is coming up and he’s said he’d like a new webkinz. He’s been collecting them for a year now so we’ve played on the site lots. However I’ve noticed the last few days that you cannot log on. The main page says its down for “important maintencance” and you can’t even click on the “log in” button. It’s been saying it will be up and running again at 2 am, but unless they’re re-opening at 2 am and then closing again at 6 am, I don’t think they’ve been open at all the last 72 hours.

Is anyone else having this problem? I’d hate to get him a new webkinz for his birthday and then not have the site work.

For the past week, every time we click on login, the second window that opens is about 75% less screen size. I sent an email to tech support and had a reply to adjust my monitor size, which is already at the max, then clear my temporary internet files, which I also did. Nothing is working and this is the only site I am having a problem on. Does anyone have any ideas? We can’t see the left or the right side of the screen so it’s impossible to play any games. Thanks!

I like webkinz but I do have one slight problem with them.They retire webkinz that I really like sometimes. This problem isn’t as big a deal as some of the problems that you guys have but it still bugs me. I don’t even know why they retire them in the first place.

What number Webkinz is this? You get a room for the first 5 or 10 (I can’t remember, but you can look it up on their web site) but you don’t get a room for later ones-you have to buy the room with your kinzcash.

This may have been answered before, however, I am new to this so if anyone knows please help…..
For the last @ 3-4 weeks, my children have been able to log on, however, after @ 3 minutes of play I get a “Please Wait…” message that never goes away. I have both a pc and laptop in the house and the same issue keeps happening under two different Webkinz accounts. My kids have not been able to play for about a month now. Has anyones else come across this? If so, how do you fix it. They are starting to move on to other “pet” sites, but I have spent so much money on these Webkinz that they wanted, I’d like them to use the site. We really don’t need anymore stuffies in the house

I agree with Cindy,Robyn. I;ve had the same problem myself but I beleive part of the problem lies in the Webkinz server system. I design comuter systems and websites and the server is “bottlenecking” that is,too many people and not enough bandwidth to support all the people who want to play. Webkinz needs to get more and larger servers, For now you could also try changing your phone zones when this happens and repeatly clicking on the “go to room” button I do sometimes 40 or 50 times then try a diffrent zone. hope this helps, let me know if it doesnt and I’ll see if I can figure something else out for you.

I am the parent of a very frustrated little 8 yr old. and she is frustrated for good reason. She is constantly logged off or locked up with the words, “please wait” popping up on the lower left-hand side of the screen. She loses out on kinzcash and other opportunities, because she is cut off right in the middle of play. For example, she enters one of the daily activities, like one of the Gem Hunt mines at the Curio Shop, then gets logged off. Without even having clicked around for any gems before, she is still denied opening the gem hunt again, saying that she has already done that for the day, when in fact, she has not. As a parent, I shouldn’t sound like an 8 yr old, but this time I agree with her, “It’s just not fair!”

My little girl has been having the same ptroblems as everybody else the logging off and please wait just to mention a few (as we all know). We are currently not buying any thing else related to webkinz(cards,animals,etv.) and have stopped playing online., Whats the point? your’re just going to lose everything anyway. So we’ve decided to look at the competion and see what looks and works better. As soon as we find something similiar that actually works I will post it here. as for now I suggest that unless you just want a stuffed animal don’t buy webkinz. They have become absolutely nothing but aggrevation,frustration and hesitation. I know for a dact that Ganz/Webkinz does read this post so I hope they read this and take heed. We all need to just abandon them and save or money for something else.

I play Pet Society in Face Book - you get a house, earn money playing games to buy furniture, food, etc. You get an online pet at no cost. You walk to stores, the stadium to race in hurdles. It is fun, and again, it is free. You can go to your friends houses to visit without using the phone to call first. You just go.

I am an aunt to 6 kids and i got them all 2 new webkinz each they were on them all the time and there favorite game was webkinz supermodelz in the tournament arena.They were very upset and in tears it hurt me to see that in there little eyes..that they and i could not seem to find webkinz supermodelz anymore. I, too, have had enough!! My children and myself have loved Webkinz World. But the problems are never ending. I have tried so many times to get a response and all I got was an automated message that never pertained to my particular problem. I was even told that we were probably running on too old of a computer (3 years old). In July we purchased a brand new one, and the problems with Webkinz continued. There is NEVER not a problem. If we get one area to work than another doesn’t. They continue to update to add more things. Instead of adding more things, why not get what you have up and running, free of error messages, and have happy customers. We have spent hundreds of dollars over the past year and I now wish I had every penny of that money back.

i adopted one webkinz five minutes or 1 minutes after the other one. But i never got the exclusive item. ALL i got was a stupid baloon in a BOX. Is that all they give you? Because i’ve seen the exclusive items and a baloon isnt it.
I sent them a complaint but they said CHECK my dock.
Only reason they cant fix CRAP is because that they have a computer answer all your messages.
I love my webkinz like a CHILD but i want them to be happy with some nice furniture.
I was gonna SELL the exclusive item OR keep it and sell my webkinz other bed. WHICh i am REALLY disaapointed in because its colorless and only 375 webkinz cash.

My kids and I, as of this morning, will no longer buy Webkinz, or visit their site, which is how I found this site! Myself, the mom, and my three kids, all loved going on there, beating each others scores, and seeing who could make the best room. Well now, every time we get in the middle of having the best score, the stupid site restarts, and our score, AND our kinzcash are gone! Yes, the whole thing is stupid, as a poster stated up top, but the kids and I had fun there, when they had their homework done, but no more! I’m going to check out the other sites you guys mentioned, that are FREE, and say goodbye to Webkinz! Call it another Beanie Baby story, they blew it (or maybe they were tired of all the ‘hoopla’ and ended it on purpose) by what, I even forget how they stopped all that, I just know I’m out a ton of money buying all those ‘never find again’ pets, and now they sit up in our attic amusing the mice! lol
Webkinz people, if you couldn’t handle the traffic on your site, you should find a server that could, or get out of the stupid business! You’re messing with these little kids heads (and mommies too! lol) by telling them all these fun things they could do with the ‘cute’ pets they buy of yours, and then they can’t do what you say they can.
I sure hope everyone that is as frustrated as we are, does a Google search and find places like this to complain about Webkinz (since it does no good complaining to their automated complaint center), and stop going to their site, or buying their pets! Get the word out! They’ll sorry! Throw the stupid things out the window, or let your pets play with them (our dogs LOVE them!) and go to the free sites to ‘play’.

So, it is not just my daughter and I - it is soooo frustrating to go on Webkinz now! It has been terrible the last month especially. After every few minutes - always in the middle of a game it disconnects with the W showing then eventually go back to the game - but then it has the please wait and you can’t do anything else. My daughter is over it all! She said NO Webkinz for Christmas - they need to get a better server or something - this is horrible - now Webkinz is nothing but aggravating instead of fun!

I have bought my granddaughter so many Webkinz. She is no longer interested in the site since she gets knocked off the game, loses her kinzcash and really never has an opportunity to finish a game to find out how high a score she can accomplish. Like many children she is involved in many acitivities other than online games and doesn’t have much free time for Webkinz. Nevertheless she loves it and is disappointed with the interruption of a game in progress, the “please wait” notice which results in the end of the game for her–no earned “cash”–being logged out so often in mid-game…..and that’s just a few of the problems–she has a high speed connection and all the computer support needed for gaming websites so the problem is with Ganz…Well, she’s over Webkinz and says there’s no point in trying to play anymore. Ganz has marketed their animals well and have made millions but considering the poor, almost nonexistent support we can receive from them it is easy to conclude that they really don’t care and I doubt that they will care much if everyone stopped buying the animals and stopped playing–their HUGE profits are already banked –doesn’t the Better Business Bureau care that this company has broken the “contract” they made with consumers?????

January 2009 will be 1 yr of having my webkinz. I only did that so I could play with my neice who lives in PA… I have forgotten now how long it has been since I have played with her because nothing works. Boots you out of games or freezes. I have emails tech support numerous times to be told they are working on it and still with same issues months later. I see their are numerous people not very happy with webkinz and all it takes is for them to correct the issues. I just did a search on www.bbb.org and did a search for webkinz and got some information and numbers to call. Which I did and now will wait on a call back which I am sure nothing will be done as always. Nothing like taking advantage of children… I will not buy another product from them. I just sooner connect to msn messenger this way I can see her and play internet games… and things done freeze… as someone said buyer beware….

My son has had a Webkinz for five months now, and we haven’t had a single problem. We have found the site incredibly simple to use, fun and rewarding. Has it occurred to you that no game, website or toy is perfect and there are occasionally problems with everything you want to do? Try taking your kid to the park to fly a kite, only to discover that it doesn’t fly. Your kid will cry, just like he/she might if Webkinz is experiencing a glitch. Maybe he/she could spill juice on a book. Cue the tears again. Are you all going to hop on an internet web site and complain about these problems? And honestly, I’m still not sure what everyone is talking about. I assume you all are the less than 1% who will have issues with whatever you decide to do.

If you haven’t had any problems in 5 months, you’re extremely lucky.

There are certain things my daughter can never do during daytime hours (getting items from storage, for example). About 50% of the time, the system goes into ‘please wait’ mode permanently sometime during the process. Almost always, the first login attempt fails - but the second one works better.

I’m guessing that their problem is the number and location of servers. If you happen to be near a server site which isn’t heavily used, you’ll be OK. Others aren’t so lucky. They really need more (or faster) servers and better bandwidth.

One tip that might help. I’ve found that the site works much better with Firefox than with Internet Explorer. It still hangs and suffers from major overload, but it is noticeably less frequent when using Firefox. It might be worth a try if you’re having trouble.

I could not log in for 3 weeks, then the heart on Daily Kinzcare stayed full for 2 weeks, Wheel of Wow and Gem Hunt kept saying our turn had already been used for that day. I e-mailed Webkinz Technical Support, and received a reply the same day to some of the issues, then a reply regarding the rest of them the next day. All of the issues were fixed immediately (the next day!). My daughter now has 12 Webkinz, and they are so much more fun that Shining Stars, Build-A-Bear-ville, and Pixie Hollow combined. Her friend has 62 Webkinz, and has been playing 4 years and NEVER had a problem. She is on it everyday.

If you’re having trouble, try using a different internet browser. For example, on my Mac, I find that Firefox works somewhat better than Safari. It still doesn’t work great, but just a bit better.

I used to think the problem was insufficient server capacity, but I don’t think so any more. The same problems occur at times when kids are in school across the country (like 9 am PST). It’s just obviously lousy code-writing.

My daughter has given up on Webkinz (after we have purchased about 80 webkinz over the past few years. It’s just absolutely incredible that these people care so little about customer support that they’re willing to lose good customers over and over because they can’t be bothered to create a decent web page.

I do not understand why Ganz will not let you scroll down on the sign on page. The resolution on all three of my girls HP minis is not big enough to show the full screeen. And the only fix that Webkins offers is buy new screens to plug the laptops in. Or we could just stop buying webkins??? I have not had any problems with webkinz until about a week ago. It gets to the green loading page after I have put in username and password and it never loads. I’ve tried clearing caches, cookies, using safari/firefox, downloading new flashplayer, and pretty much anything else I’ve found on these sites to help. It is extremely frustrating. We just purchased the Deluxe membership and haven’t even been able to log on to use….

Interesting that people have been having issues for so long. My sons have well over 10 of these silly little creatures and we’ve had most of our problems since moving to the UK in late 2006. Mostly it has to do with the time difference so when they are up and ready to play on weekend mornings the site is “down for maintenance”. No where to they state exactly what hours each day that will be but we’ve come to the conclusion (based on trips back to the US during summer months) that they shut down EVERY night around 2 a.m. (EST) until at least 4 a.m. EST (translastes to 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. GMT). It’s currently 10:30 a.m. here and I’m still getting the “can’t connect right now so you’ll be logged off” message. This will go on until mid afternoon our time. So far no issues with rooms or items - mostly log off/on or the dreaded “please wait” message in the lower left corner. All that being said both accounts expire late this summer and we will NOT be buying any new pets to renew. It’s bad enough to have all these issues but to have a one year limit for play is even worse. The only way this is fair is buying one every year on the anniversary of the first pet - if you put on two at the same time you only get one year in total. This company has made millions off of these animals and all the assorted “extras” and can’t be bothered to do proper customer support. So I agree with everyone that won’t be buying these again - hit them where it really hurts, their bottom line.
Contrary to popular belief it is possible to “hack” another account. If you are using a wireless computer and you don’t have your system encoded anyone within signal can get in if you haven’t logged out properly. And Ganz uses all sorts of lame excuses as to why their site doesn’t work - they will almost always blame the user and say their is nothing they can do. Guess cyber games are no fairer than real life?
So we are back to looking at other sites (Neopets is good but more complicated and geared toward older children and used by LOTS of adults all over the world). Good luck to all.

i can’t go on th the webkinz clubhouse! Help!
I also have a wireless thing but its not connecting to the webkinz clubhouse!

can anyone help me??? i bought a webkinz lil kinz bulldog and wacky zingoes but when i got to the adoption center the whole page doesnt show and it wont let me make an account!?! anyone know why ?

When I press log in for webkinz, I get a solid green screen, with no place to actually log in. It says ‘done’ in the bottom left corner.
I have cleared cache, downloaded updated flash player, but no luck. This seems to be aproblem many people have, but I have not found a solution. Help!

I had a good experience with WebKins customer support. First my daughter had one of her secret codes, so that solved any security issues. I call 888-818-8770 had a friendly lady reset the my daughters account user name and password. She is able to log in no problems and everything is still there.

When I finish a tournament–and do really well–it won’t register my score. There is supposed to be a check mark next to the “players entered” section showing that my score has been registered, but when I finish, only sometimes, it decides my score will not be tallied.

Also, I don’t play EVERYDAY–Sometimes I read books, or go to work. It appears that many of you have a hard time spelling words. Maybe you should step away from your computer for a moment and get some education.

My kids and I have had Webkinz accounts for about two years and while we have had problems, they haven’t been serious - until the last few months. Now, we often can’t get on, the he site often “freezes”, I can’t get to the tournament arena and can never get my scores. I also have trouble moving from one Webkinz area to another. Has anyone else noticed a recent decline? I feel like Ganz has realized that the fad is over and thus has decided not to spend any money on technical upkeep.

I was going to buy new Webkinz for my kids for Christmas but I don’t want to spend any money on Ganz. I would advise anyone against buying one right now - I have a feeling Ganz will soon simply abandon the website.

My son received his first webkinz for his birthday in 07, he has been a member and we both have enjoyed playing online. I was amazed at just how much money i have spent on stuffed animals that we dont even keep, we have 213 webkinz on one account and now we have startecd several other accounts. I finally sat down and added what I have spent this year along and I was afraid I might be getting divorced if my husban finds out. My problem and it is a little scary is, usually when they goe down for an upgrade it is late 2am but you are always allowed to get to their site. Tonight I was locked out around 8p.m. due to not being about to locate them online. I get a 404 error saying website is not found. If anyone knows what is going on please post so that I might calm my son and his friends. thanks

well i can get to the main page through clicking the link on google but then on the page where you type in ure username and password it shows a blank screen and then it quits loading on that blank screen. Someone tell me is the site down for a while or is webkinz just a done deal? please post a comment on this subject if you know anything about it. Thanks

After logging in, the second window pops up…(ex Adoption page) the site appears larger than my screen and it will not let you scroll down the page to select or see the rest of that page. I’m using IE8. It will work with firefox, but there’s still some scrolling issues. Any suggestions?

Google Chrome fixes all of the scrolling issues. Just figured it out.

I just adopted 3 more webkins 2 black bears and the pet of the month snhous
er. It let’s me go into every one of my webkins room… EXCEPT MY SNOUSHER!
But here is the thing. I went into his room this morning at 6:00. Then decorated his room,
in the colors red and orange I think. but the walls went gray. Everything else I put in his room showed up, bt the walls and floors. so I went out of his room, then tried going back in, and it would load half way and stop.
Then I refreshed my computer, and it still did not work. So I figured maybe it just
needed a rest. So I got off for 5and a half hours. tried getting back into his room, still did not work.
Refreshed it again… No luck! SO I have tried and tried.Still doesen’t work.
Will you please, try and fix it, or suggest some things I may try. Because I need to get into his room!

Just a tip for any Webkinz users: You know the new room theme with the flowers and whatnot: Do not buy the wallpaper. It just locks up your room and when you try to go in, it just won’t load. This did not happen to me, it happened to my best friend’s sister who is on Webkinz and I’m just putting it here so people do not waste their KinzCash on both the room and the wallpaper. I suppose that there is some bug or glitch that will be fixed soon, but in the meantime don’t do it. Also, be careful about buying rooms. Yesterday my best friend whose sister bought the flower wallpaper bought a room, and it wouldn’t let her in. Like the wallpaper glitch, the room wouldn’t load and you had to log out and log back in to be able to access anything else. Just a few tips so you don’t waste your KinzCash.

my son is playing webkinz and then he goes to the employment office and plays the news throwing thing and then lets say he misses 1 right, but it counts as 2 missed and then the next scene, even if it’s right BOOM! it counts as another miss and you only get 3 misses and you’re done. Another thing his account had 1 more day to expire and we go to Hallmark to get a new one he registered it he went to his pets room no prizes, no food, and no webkinz.It also wastes money if the account expires, then there’s not really a point of having it.

if you are having issues logging in, you can call customer service they are opened from 9a.m. to 4:30 p.m. central eastern time M-F keep the code you used and they will be able to reset your password and it should work. Also if anyone is having trouble with it saying closed check your time zones, it will do that if you didnt set the time zones correctly. One last thing, when you have issues with Webkinz not loading or having trouble with anything in webkinz clean out your cookies. I couldnt believe it myself but it works. Do it before you log in, it helps a lot!!!!

This may already be posted but my nephew would get blank green screen when he would try to log in from his home. We cleared out cookies-reloaded flash- tried every fix i could find on the internet and on webkinz. Our issue was Norton. If I turned off Norton AntiVirus he could log in. So if others are having issues try disabling norton to see if you can then log in. If so readjust your security setting in Norton to allow Webkinz to load.
