I had a few extra minutes at lunch today and stumbled into the Apple Store to check out the new iPod Nano.
I hadn’t been there but a couple of minutes when I couldn’t help but notice several people logging into sites that required passwords like their MySpace accounts or Yahoo! Mail accounts. Most of the people seemed to be using the huge and beautiful iMac monitors as public terminals to check their personal accounts.
I stood their mesmerized by their stupidity and high degree of comfort in checking into personal accounts right there in the middle of the store on huge 24″ iMac monitors for everyone in the store to see.
As I stood their watching, each person would navigate away from the page they had logged into and eventually off of the site they were logged into. Not one of the people logged out.
So there you have it, the easiest password and ID theft hack around. Go to the Apple Store on your lunch hour, check out a few iPods and wait for people to leave the unintentional public terminals Apple has created. After they leave walk up and click the back button on the browser a few times and your in.
