I decided to use a WaWa gift card to buy gas the other day. I swiped the card and I was automatically assigned “Premium” as my gas option.
I don’t want, need or use premium gas. I don’t really think anybody needs premium gas but that’s a different complaint altogether.
My biggest complaint about the WaWa gift card is that I’m forced into paying .40 more per gallon just because somebody gave me a gift. Using the WaWa gift card for gas devalues the gift card face value by 40%.

Some cars require premium. Both my Acura and Subaru do. Yes they can run on regular for a tank full here and there, but the specifications call for 93 octane. The complaint about the car bussiness is the 3000 mile oil change. Now that’s hogwash.
You are not Force to used premium…. i use the gift cards all the time

Too many people complain about wawa gas. Why don’t you go to Sunoco? Wawa waters down the gas anyway; true.

An interesting view of the automotive industry. Where do you see the future of the industry, will it ever recover or will there be major casulties?

A. Using your gift card for purchase of gas dosen’t mean you don’t have the choice of all three grades. There could be a problem with the pump/MPD or you accidently selected the grade prior to sliding your card.
B. Don’t believe anyone when they tell you the Wawa’s gas is less effective than its’ competitiors. Sunoco, Lukoil, and many other national lables use the same gas from the same source as we do!
C. How can gas be watered down? The blend has ethonal as with any other chains… don’t be discouraged.

You are young and ignorant if you believe gasoline can be watered down. Sorry

MPD multiple product dispenser, is the culprit for an automatic select. When they operate right, you’ll even “time out” and have to start over if you don’t select grade in enough time. Get yourself into the manager and tell him his equipment is not working right.

Okay Gas cannot be watered down, you can choose whatever grade you want. Plus how does your math come up with it devalueing the card 40%? If Regular is $2.85, Premium would have to be about $4.80 to devalue it 40%

Why would a company thriving in business do souly to its customer service threaten its very existence on something so petty as to water down its gas, and think of the cost in legalities and lost sales if they where to something so uncharacteristic to their success. dont be a dumb ass, and gift cards dont lose any value and can be used for all three brands of gas. Dont be haten on a success story that is employing somewhere like 16.000 LOCAL employees and helping contribute to the local city, state and federal economy.
