If you know me, you know I like things the way they used to be.
But when it comes to a genetic engineering masterpiece like the seedless watermelon, I say to hell with it, throw out the old and bring in the new.
So of course my biggest complaint about watermelons with seeds is that watermelons with seeds exist anywhere outside of a genetic laboratory where the seeds are needed for mindless reproduction.
These seed filled old farm relics should be disallowed and sent to the juice plants where the those hard black seeds can be filtered with ease. Don’t bother me with it anymore. I don’t have time for it.
Any taste differential in the seed filled watermelon vs. the seedless watermelon is far outweighed by the convenience factor of the seedless watermelon. The only thing a seed filled watermelon is good for is a cute picture every now and then. That’s it. Get that crap out of the stores. Every time I see one it’s like I’ve transported to some market in a third world country.
If we have the ability to rid the world of seeds in watermelons, why don’t we?

i remember once hearing of scientists in Japan working on cube shaped watermelons that were easier for stacking and storing. I suppose it’s possible if you grow the watermelon in a cubed controlled ecosystem. It would be pretty sweet to have seedless cubed watermelons. I think there should be seedless versions of all fruits, especially strawberries because their seeds ruin any blended drink they’ve been added to.
I’d also like to see someone create the boneless all white meat chicken. That would be a fun farm to visit.
