Now my local news even has laptops for the anchor people. I first saw them pop up on CNN, mostly during election night return broadcasts, but now it’s an everyday thing.
Why? What can they possibly be looking at besides the teleprompter when reading me the news?
Answer: Nothing. It’s total show. Unless they have bad eyesight […]

Hammer said:
Maybe they don't have as many servers as google and yahoo and want to cut down on traffic bandwidth by only using SSL on the username and password part of the page.
@Hammer, thanks for at least trying to answer my question and give a reason as to why the page is not secure, although the form may be. Apple has plenty of bandwith. Seriously, iTunes downloads? Full length movies? Secured login... I don't think there is a comparison. I'm guessing Apple isn't on shared hosting. So, does any one else have any other ideas as to why Apple would not make the entire page secure to prevent it from being phished?

@Lyle, yes much more, and all of it, including 10GB of your most precious files all accessible from an insecure login page.

Before you guys go any further with this, can tom, Mark or anyone else for that matter offer any sensible reason as to why gmail and yahoo have secure login pages and .mac accounts do not?

That's the cool thing to do in the business tech world. Blame it all on Microsoft.

Strangely enough, I once read a study about the most favorable colors for readability for backgrounds and text on web pages. That study concluded that a yellow background with green text was the best for your eyes. Go figure. Talk about seriously making me puke.

@Droo, while your tips might work, I think trophywife's point is that you shouldn't have to do any of this stuff in iTunes. iPod's work intuitively - an album is an album. iTunes at least in the default setup, is very counterintuitive because it splits tracks and what is the point of that?

@dw17, leaving the messages on the server is fine with me, but host who don't allow IMAP should be someone else's complaint!
