• Sound Of Football Games On The NFL Network

I don’t understand why the sound of football games on the NFL Network is so poor. CBS, NBC, ABC, ESPN, none of them ever had a problem with their sound. The announcers broadcasting the NFL Network, Thursday Night Football game, sound like aren’t even at the game. It’s like they are announcing […]

• Alberto Gonzales Being Named Lawyer of the Year

My biggest complaint about Alberto Gonzales being named lawyer of the year is that it is tantamount to Michael Vick being name “PETA’s Person of the Year.” The AP reports that the reason the ABA chose Gonzales is because he made the most news. Easily, by the same standard, you could say that […]

• Politicians Who Run On Getting Brodband Internet

Dave Nutter, a political candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, is running commercials where he is standing there with some business guy who apparently is in the broadband internet business. He makes claims that sound like he is working hard so people like his buddy in the commercial can get contracts to bring […]

• Vacations

My biggest complaint about vacations is that they come to an end. I go off and have a great time, then I come back to work and it all seems for naught. The work has piled up and I’m playing catchup. Everybody asks me how my vacation was and I tell […]

• Moe’s Southwest Grill

I can eat a burrito with the best of them. And while I certainly don’t think Moe’s Southwest Grill has the best (or even authentic) burritos, I really do like them.
My biggest complaint about Moe’s is that the employees are (clearly) forced to shout, “Welcome to Moe’s,” every time a customer walks in […]

• Using “Friggin” For The F-Bomb

What is up with people who use the term “friggin”, “flippin” or “frickin” when they really want to drop the f-Bomb!
If you aren’t willing to say the word in whatever company you are in (like in a business setting, when you’re hanging around with your mistress’ mother, situations like that), then what good is it […]

• The Last Hour Of Saturday Night Live

Now I’ll be honest. I don’t watch Saturday Night Live often, but I do try to catch about one episode or so every year, just to see what I’m missing.
We’ll I did my yearly ritual last weekend….
Chris Rock opened the show with an antagonistic skit about George Bush. Chris Rock is always funny […]

• Michael Vick And Marcus Vick

I think the world (or at least the United States) is seeing the true side of the Vick Brothers, Michael and Marcus.
Several other users have commented about their thoughts on Michael Vick torturing animals, and I’m not going to rehash those (nor any of the illegal, unethical, and unprofessional behavior of the Vick […]

• Delta Airlines Employees Wasting Everybody’s Time

Recently, I took a flight on Delta Airlines originating from Dulles. When my wife and I checked in, I told the Delta agent that I wanted my frequent flyer miles credited to my Alaska Air Mileage Partner Account. I knew that Delta and Alaska Air were partners, b/c I checked it when I booked the […]

• Bedroom Slippers

Ladies, this one is for you. If you want to turn you man off (or woman off, if that’s your preference) just put on some bedroom slippers.
Nobody can pull off bedroom slippers. Take me to Victoria’s Secret; find me the hottest chick there; dress her in the pick of the litter, ultra-sexiest, you’re-gonna-get-some-tonight, […]

• iTunes Shared Music

So I get this new macbook pro. It’s sweet. Let me tell you, you want one. Even if you don’t know what one is, you want one……
I don’t have my iTunes Music loaded on it yet, but I crank up iTunes anyway. Then magically “Julia’s Music” appears under the Shared Music Section. […]

• Coffee Carafe Designers

I like coffee and I drink a lot of it. Most of it from drip coffee makers. It seems like at least 75% of the coffee carafes I use dribble or just plain spill coffee everywhere. My favorite is when I try to pour it and runs down the side of the carafe […]

• Your story sounds a lot like a scene depicted in "Fast Food Nation," the book by Eric Schlosser. I certainly have no way to judge if this is authentic. It could be a hoax. It seems fishy that nobody has reported this anywhere but on this website. Because it is remarkably similar to the story in Fast Food Nation, it makes me suspicious about it.

• After reading all this stuff about Amazing Clubs Beer of the Month Clubs not delivering beer, I am grateful that when my buddy bought me the 3-month service that I actually got a case of beer for three months. Sorry your having these problems.

• kapusta hit this one on the head. I'm sure there is some way to override this "feature" but it probably is so complicated that nobody is likely to spend the time figuring out how to do it. Not everybody needs a "phone tree" on their personal voicemail - actually nobody needs a phone tree on their personal voicemail Why don't the cell phone company's just make the default what kapusta suggests and if the user wants a phone tree they can figure out how to install it.

• You know what? I think all of you are off base. Considering the way the United States has sold it soul to the Chinese (everything we buy i now made in China), I would not be surprised if Chinese is our official language 50 years from now. Even if the language isn't our "official language," I wouldn't be surprised if the Chinese own most of the United States by then.

• I have to say that one thing about gaps between the doors is that if you run out of toilet paper you can ask the dude beside you to send some over. Any polite American would be happy to oblige. No gaps = no toilet paper in an emergency. Ask yourself if you are willing to just "finish up and stand up" or not.

• No matter what race you are, I think the LARGE majority of people (in this country and many others) are disgusted by dog fighting, and for many of them, the Vick incident was the first time they really thought much about it. I bet the next person who admits to participating in it (on the level Vick has admitted to, like electrocuting the weak ones) will not be judged as harshly as Vick, nor receive as harsh a sentence, nor be such a pariah. That's just the way it goes. It's like how the older brother gets all the harsh punishements and the younger brother does the exact thing and the parents don't even care. Oh wait, I didn't mean to suggest that Marcus would be following in his big brothers footsteps..... (isn't it ironic that Marcus now looks like the "good brother") You implied that the pundits and reporters are NOT speaking for the black people of this country. You may not turn out to be correct on this. It will be interesting to see. Nevertheless, I really don't think this is about race and injecting race into it is disgusting. Unfortunately that's how the entertainment industry, ooops I meant news programs, operates. With respect to this incident, I think that what I said at the beginning of this comment is really the reason Vick was judged so harshly, and others who come after him - black, white, latino, whatever - won't be.

• "Ladies, here’s a challenge for you. Find me a pair of bedroom slippers (real bedroom slippers, not porn boots) that make you look hot and post the picture here. I bet there won’t even be one single post." It's been over a month and not even one submission of a sexy slipper. Am I gonna have to give away a free ipod to the winner in order to get some pics posted? Only thing I can figure is I must be right when I say it's not possible to make a slipper sexy.

•
It's not about this specific incident, it's about our value system as a whole. By taking time out of lives for this retarded, crap, we pull time from other important things. Don't evaluate my every word for it's microscopic meaning, you have to understand the bigger picture.
I agree with you on the bigger picture. I'm not dramatizing anything. I will point out that, like it or not, Michael Vick is (was) a Virginia Tech icon. I never believed that he should be, but there are buildings named for him here; half the town has a Vick t-shirt. All of southwest Virginia switched from being Carolina Panther Fans to being Atlanta Falcon fans when he signed with them. I'll be the first one to tell you that there an infinite number of things that are more important than this. The point of my complaint is that Micheal Vick turned out to be the loser that I thought he was, and that his behavior further tarnished Virginia Tech at a time when Virginia Tech could have used an uplift. This really isn't retarded crap as far as people who are associated with Virginia Tech are concerned (and there are a lot of them). I do believe there are things to be learned from this incident. It is just too bad that it had to happen. The bigger picture really wasn't apparent from your earlier response. I understand where you are coming from now.

• chewie said:
I've always found it hard to believe that a laptop could not turn on and still be a bomb. It's a ludicrous presumption in the first place.
Yes, it seems like a person could use the laptop to detonate the bomb (or a bomb in another location), in which case demonstrating that it can turn on is also demonstrating that it could be a trigger device. It would be nice if somebody from TSA could comment.

• maninblack said:
Big deal, there are worse problems in this country than dog fighting. If he had a wife, at least he doesn't beat her, or deal drugs, or fight in bars, or go on gang shootings, or jump into the crowd and fight fans.
How do you know what Vick is or is not doing? Did you know about the dog fighting before anyone else did? My guess is that you didn't, which doesn't speak well to your ability to know what else he is doing. What about the possession (ala airplane)? Did you know about that? I agree that he doesn't need 6 years in prison. But, I'm not sure that claiming that this issues is putting "the wellbeing of an animal over that of our families" follows from your argument. Who and how is this issue putting the wellbeing of an animal over your wife, husband, or kids (or family)?

• I don't know if the bend is a design feature or a defect, but it does seem odd that any Apple employee would ever use the words "throw down" when discussing an issue with a customer. It sure is an interesting twist on "Apple Care." Where is this guy's supervisor?

• While I admit I don't frequent Starbucks more than a couple times year (I prefer to support local coffee shops), I agree with you. If you are going to be working anywhere, you should know about the product you are selling or supporting. I don't believe that you necessarily have to use that product, but you should know about it. The employees you mentioned could have said something to the effect of, "Several other customers commented that the Latin American Blend was great today." Honestly, I'm surprised that Starbucks would let this situation happen.
