• Try joining a campus organization (they're not all about partying and binge drinking) or volunteering at a community agency. You mentioned graduate school; if you know what field you're interested in, you should find out if there is a departmental student group affiliated with that organization. If you are studying a foreign language, often the instructor will know of conversation groups where people practice the new language. Good luck!

    • Re:SXRXNRR's comment: "Why are white people in prison? They broke the law. Why are Black people in prison? They broke the law." I would agree with you, were it not the case that African Americans consistently receive harsher sentencing than Caucasians (European Americans) for the same exact crimes. You can check out stats here at this site: http://www.sentencingproject.org/

    • I understand that if you pay a lot of money, you expect quality, but the sad truth is, inferior merchandise (and customer service) comes at any price. I always read forums (fora?) and online reviews of products before I make a major purchase. I never ever ever buy the latest-new-shiny thing because I prefer established product reputation to marketing hype as a basis for rational decision-making. I simply don't make enough money to afford to make a major purchasing mistake.
