My Biggest Complaint About Unhealthy Health Food Store Employees

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about pretty people. Lots of ugly people look healthy. I’m talking about people who seem like they may not have bathed recently or fed on anything more than lettuce and wheat grass in the last six months.

My biggest complaint about unhealthy looking health food store employees is pretty obvious… I mean, am I going to look like them if I start taking whatever it is I’m buying at the store?

Holistic health food stores seem to suffer the most from this kind of thing. I don’t want to say the word “hippie” but sometimes I can’t think of anything better. Although I’m sure the health food store employee is the perfect picture of inner spiritual health, bathing frequently may help lend an air of credibility to the whole “health” thing.

The health food store is one of those places where the employees need to be knowledgeable about the products. I usually have a lot of questions about what I’m putting in my body and although I can read labels and reviews just fine, thank you very much, the employee should be there to be more than just a cashier. Or at least they could be a clean cashier.

So when I’m in the health food store and the person to whom I’m supposed to ask these health questions smells bad or looks emaciated, I can’t help but think maybe all this health food crap is… well… crap.
