I might catch hell for this, but I just don’t get it. I guess that could be my biggest complaint about Twitter, can’t it? I just don’t get it.
What is the fascination with texting every movement you make during the day. Does anyone really care what you’re doing? It seems to me the idea is to post your text messages for everyone to see in hopes that someone might think your desperately boring life is somewhat interesting because obviously your real friends who you could easily text message in private don’t give a sh*t.
At least to me, it seems kind of like the “let’s throw some crap up against the wall and hope something sticks” routine. Throw your text messages out there for the world to see and maybe someone will care. How sad is that?
I really have no complaint with the people who founded Twitter. They’re brillant. Maybe I’m not and that’s why I just don’t get why “going to pick up milk” or “missed the bus” or “watching 20/20″ is all that interesting.

yeah, when i read about Twitter coming out i felt the same way. Who cares what you’re doing each moment? But i can see how this would be helpful in a situation where a very tightly knit group needs to constantly know the status of its members. Perhaps a business team that is constantly in motion. But not friends who have their own very separate lives. Because clearly if you spend your day looking at your twitter, you don’t have a life of your own.
How about -
OK, so maybe that’s a little long to text, but you get the point.
