My Biggest Complaint About The Prime Time T.V. Slot Being Too Late

Now that summer is upon us and there is absolutely nothing to watch on , I find myself waiting for the fall lineup of new shows. Unfortunately, when that fall lineup of shows arrives, I might not be able to stay up late enough to watch it.

What has happened to the prime time t.v. spot over the last 10 or 15 years? Everything seems to have been pushed back to 10:00 PM for the really good shows like ‘’. The old prime time spot used to 8:00 PM and then the adult dramas would show up at 9:00 PM. I could handle that.

Not to harp on ‘Lost’ but they seem to concede the fact that viewers will not be able to stay up late for the 10:00 PM time slot so they’ve invented this new repeat time slot of 9:00 PM where they show last week’s episode before the current week’s episode. You’re led to believe this is to let you re-live the exciting prior episode, but really it’s a chance for those who couldn’t stay up the week before to watch the show an hour early.

I remember the days of ‘Happy Days’ at 8:00 PM and ‘Laverne and Shirley’ at 8:30 PM. That was pretty much all anybody needed. Why do we have to stay up so late to see good t.v.?
