I cant even watch these new episodes. Spongebobs voice is irritating, all he does is sing and cry, its horrible. Patrick is just a complete dumbass who cries all the time. Sandy is all of a sudden a scientist, what happened to karate, etc. The only characters who are still the same is squidward and mr. krabs. Is it me or have they just gotten bored and make these episode crappy. Remember how funny it was back then way before the movie in 2004. They used to relate to everyone including adults, it was funny and entertaining. Now its just kiddy and annoying. Everytime it comes on, i look to see if its a new or old episode, when all i see is (supervising producer: paul tibbett) i change the channel. They ruined such a good show, it sucks to see how much they have fallen. Not only do these new episodes suck, but once this show is off the air, nickelodeon is pretty much done, they have some on the worst shows on the air right now (fanboy and chumchum?) (penguins of madagascar?) What happened to the good shows (rugrats, jimmy neutron, etc etc) They make the worst shows now. I guess they have gotten bored. But getting back on topic, spongebob has gone down ever since they made the movie, the voices are different, the characters arent the same like they used to be, for some odd reason the characters look different, the animation just isnt the same, just take spongebob for an example and compare it to how it used to be. Im pretty sure the show wont last for another 2 years unless they hire old producers. All i can say is congrats on the 6 years of crappy low budget episodes.

yes!!!!! it is so horrible now , when “where’s gary ” came out i let it slide but ever since then the episodes are poorly thought of the humor is ridiculous , Nick should change it back to exactly how it was or they should cancell it because honestly im tired of waiting through the theme song ,all excited, to see bull crap like “where’s gary” i also heard they are going to change the opening theme What is nick thinking ?!

I agree that the show went downhill after the movie, which is around the time that creator Jay H. left to do other projects. They never do things like the “Ren & Stimpy”-type close-ups or rainbows over SB’s head anymore. It’s little details like that that are totally gone. Also, the much-discussed change in Tom Kenny’s voice is unbearable. He used to do SB in a much lower register, only using the high voice to show excitement. Now, everything is done in that high manic voice, and it sounds like Kenny’s got a lump in his throat. They should all go back and watch seasons one and two and take lengthy notes. The intelligence they used to have is gone.

it’s irritating as hell to watch any episode released past the movie. and in my opinion, the movie was awesome. also, remember, “the sponge who could fly”? that had to be one of the last good episodes. what happened? i know one of the main creators of the show left, but that didn’t mean that the show had to completly change. it didn’t mean that the show had to start appealing to just kids. remember all the innuendos the old show had? that was because they wanted the show to appeal to everyone. but now it’s just mindless, nonsensical, regular childrens tv. i mean, i’m fine if you change the voices or the animation, but why did the writing have to become bad? i’m going to buy seasons 1, 2, and 3 on dvd soon, so my family dosnt have to suffer.

This show used to be funny, and the older episodes are probably the only cartoons I still laugh at. The humor that used to be in the show only appeals to children now. The movie was decent, but after Stephen Hillenburg left the show, the wondrous world of Spongebob became commercial and artificial. The characters’ personalities are flat. Examples: Spongebob used to be just mildly naive, not completely retarded. Patrick acted as the wacky best friend who would do some silly things on occasion, whereas the new Patrick is just as retarded as the new Spongebob. Mr. Krabs was the somewhat greedy boss who Spongebob looked up to. Now, Mr. Krabs is a money-hoarding scrooge who’s sole purpose is to aqcuire all the money in the world. Squidward hasn’t changed a whole lot, but it seems as though the new Squidward is so pissed off at the world that he has given up hope and only says groan-inducing snide remarks once in a while. (I swear, though, he must’ve yelled, “GET OUT OF THERE!,” a hundred times in that slide whistle episode.) The humor in the show used to be clever and made all age groups chuckle and laugh. Now the show’s “humor” relies solely on randomness, which isn’t funny and may give children a few laughs. I mean, Seinfeld was most likely ended because they didn’t want this to happen to it. I just want one new episode that’s as memorable as The bubblestand episode, “Pickles,” or “Help Wanted.” (anchovies.)
