Apple actually closed the online store today for 3 hours to hype the release of the new MacBook. For what? Why is this even being considered anything more than a necessary update?
Look at the stats. Apple has increased the speed of the MacBook by an amazing .16ghz. Damn, that’s worth the wait, huh?
Not impressed. Me neither.
I’m sure the fact that Apple upgraded the MacBooks to carry 1gb RAM off the shelf as opposed to the 512mb they were shipping with is going to make you run right out and snag one.
No? Me neither, again.
The release of the upgraded MacBooks is just another over-hyped media opportunity by the new masters of hype, the P.T. Barnum of the computer industry.
If Apple was on schedule with Leopard, maybe this release wouldn’t look so blah. New MacBooks with Leopard installed would be much easier to swallow. Instead, all of those mac-zombies and would be windows switchers waiting in the wings have one more reason not to spend any money at all on an Apple product this spring.
Apple totally blew the Leopard release because of the iPhone and now the MacBook is released to much fanfare because it got a speed bump and now has 1gb of memory.
How in the hell is AAPL at $107.00?

I think you’re complaining just to complain about something. You probably wrote this on a mac, didn’t you? And you probably own a boatload of Jobs Stock, don’t you?
Me, I’ve got a real reason to complain. I’ve been patiently waiting for santa rosa and a freaking lcd display so I could buy my special someone a new macbook (since late January 07). I am formally announcing that there will be no new mac book for her (which means no new macbook for me, either).
This Apple announcement was tantamount to me making an announcement that I would be upgrading the speed of my bowel movements.
