My Biggest Complaint About The Messages On The Foil Wrapper Of Dove Chocolates

“Temptation is fun…giving in is even better” is the message that my 10 year old daughter unwrapped yesterday. Even my daughter was shocked by that evil advice. I am interested in knowing who approves these messages.

  1. I’m with you. Granted, it’s not as bad as the ED Advertisements that somebody else complained about on this site (Cialis or Viagra or whatever it was).

I also had my beef with the writers of the dove messages. It seems like every third dove chocolate I unwrap has the message you complained about, “temptation is fun, giving in is even better.” Here is my post.

  2. you need to lighten up a little.

Im really siick of this homogenized nanny state this world has become because god forbid someones kid reads something mildly offensive. yes i have children, and i talk to them about things that come up in every day life such as things like this. its called PARENTING. not relying on censors to do my job for me.

    get a life

  3. Umm… i’ve rarely found offensive messages in anything but the dark chocolate message chocolates. each kind is, i think, aimed at a certain audience. my milk chocolate messages were things like “it’s definitely a bubble-bath day” and “sometimes a smile can mean more than a dozen roses.” I could very well be wrong, but that’s been my experience.

  4. That depend with the eyes or thoughts you have in your mind

If you know the correct meaning of “Giving in” maybe you can see it differently.

donation, contribution - act of giving in common with others for a common purpose especially to a charity

  5. I LOVE YOUR MESAGES ON THE WRAPPERS, I USE THE DOVE PROMISES MESSAGES ON MY BOARD EVERY MORNING AT WORK, FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY AND GIVE THEM A LIFT AND A SMILE FOR THE DAY, AND IF I DON’T HAVE ONE UP THERE, THEY ASK ” WHERE’S THE MESSAGE FOR THE DAY” THANKS FOR YOU SAYINGS AND REALLY THANKS FOR YOUR CHOCOLATE

  6. For the love of Pete!! Get your mind out of the gutter. This is a message on chocolate not on a condom wrapper. If eating chocolate is evil don’t buy it!

  7. I have been buying Dove promises (milk chocolate) for a long time, and am disappointed at the size of the bag getting smaller and the price going up (from 11oz to 8.5oz), so I don’t buy as many (I was buying them every week), also the sale price is not that great (2/$7), spare me. Don’t think I will be buying so often. Don’t really care what the foil says (but I do have the “chocolate is my only vice hanging on my desk!)

  8. Dove Dark Chocolate and Dove Milk Chocolate with Caramel’s messages bring light and joy to each day. I typically have one a day, and they seem to give the best little picker-upper I need to get on with all the work a full time student with a job needs. These messages are hanging all over my mini fridge, and people know me for my Dove messages. Without them, I probably wouldn’t be so prone to buying this chocolate in particular. Thanks for always brightening my day. The only time I get disappointed is when I am looking for a new message and its a repeat, even then, I still love them =)

  9. Seriously? Why must you over react? Suck it up. If your kids was going to learn about “temptation” they would learn about it on the street and in school where most kids nowadays find out about it and not on a dang candy wrapper. The age is getting younger and younger. Its life. Deal and move on.

  10. I was also disappointed when the price doubled and the size and contents shrunk once the article was published in Prevention magazine a year or so ago concerning heart benefits! i just can’t support that attitude.
