California Congressman Tom Lantos has sent a letter to the NFL urging that “if” Michael Vick should be implicated in dog fighting on his former property, the NFL should “act swiftly and forcefully”. The Congressman warned the NFL that if they didn’t do anything about it, the federal government might intervene.
The same federal government that
- Allowed this Country to be led to war on a pack of lies about WMD.
- Has given Halliburton pick of the litter for rebuilding contracts in Iraq.
- Virtually ground to a halt to debate and pass unconstitutional laws in the Terri Schiavo case.
- Couldn’t get any black people out of New Orleans before or after Hurricane Katrina.
- Can’t do anything about $4.00 per gallon gas prices.
And now this idiot from California wants the federal government to get involved in the NFL’s disciplinary policies in a case where someone hasn’t been charged with a crime yet?
Shut up and quit wasting your constituency’s time with something like this.

I agree, it’s not the govt’s business but the sports organizations need to step up and do something about atheletes who do wrong. They don’t deserve their wages as it is. I won’t purchase any merchandise with any “team” on it because of the fact that every last one of them are overpaid.
