I just finished watching the 20/20 episode on transgender children.
Yes, there is such a thing.
My biggest complaint about the 20/20 episode on transgender children is the way I automatically think this could be the fault of the parents.
If you saw the episode, you saw truly anguished parents dealing with children who believed they were not who God made them.
I don’t doubt for one second that the parents were in complete turmoil. As a parent, I cannot imagine the anguish these poor people must be going through. But one cannot help but ask “Where does a six year old come up with ideas like ‘God made a mistake, I’m not who I am’”?
Something nags from the back of my mind that the parents are partly to blame. This can’t be right, can it?
Words like “enabler”, “discipline” and “codependence” run to the front of my mind but this just isn’t right. Is it?
These parents, suffering as they obviously are, cannot be to blame. Can they?

You just can’t understand how a six year old transgender child feels unless you’ve been one.
No, the parents are not to blame, and neither are the siblings. I’m transgender, and now an adult, and my sisters feel like I’m blaming my Mother and them for this. I do not blame anyone. I am not angry with God.
People make me angry because of their bigotry. The parents are feeling the anguish that the children will experience all their lives. They’ll be hated, taunted and physcially threatened by bigots. Any parent wants their child to be safe and loved and the thought of this difficult future is enough to cause anguish.
It’s difficult being different, but that’s what makes us all unique. Not one of us is the same in this world. There may be similarities, but we are all individuals.
We do not live in a “black and white” world. They are more than two sexes and there are more than two genders.
Who’s to blame? No one. It’s the variety of nature!

Unh yeah more then 2 sexs yep that would be male, female and hermaphrodite, but then herms are both male and female so really that means there are only two. don’t beleive it well pull down your pants and ill tell you what you see, I have an almost 50 percent chance at being correct only by a guess that means there are only two sexes. A sex is the physical manifestation of a organisms reproductive capabilities. Like it or not there are only two!!!!
The variety of nature is that some of us fly and other don’t that some of us swim and other don’t get it?

…Earthworms, for example, are normally hermaphrodites.
…many people do not correspond to “male” or “female” with regard to every criterion. Additionally, about 1 to 1.7 percent of human beings exhibit biological sexual ambiguity to the degree that they cannot be physically classified as exclusively male or female. This is known as intersex. A person with intersex may have biological characteristics of both the male and female sexes…Mark, what I have between my legs is none of your damn business. I was talking about gender and not sex. Perhaps you should do a little research and get the facts before you open your damn mouth the next time. Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender.
