My Biggest Complaint About Tata Indicom Broadband Internet Connection - Very Bad Quality

I am using Tata Indicom’s Broadband Internet Connection. It is giving very poor quality. My Plan is “Business 700 with 512 kbps Speed”. But I am not getting 512 kbps speed. I am only getting as under:

109.30, 108, 98.30, 95.20 kbps only

When contacted, they say that their compression ratio for this plan is 1:4. But if it is so, then also I should get atleast 128 kbps speed, but I am not getting that speed also. Everytime, when I make a complaint - I do not get any clarifications from them. Very bad experience I am facing. They are charging me very high, but not giving quality of services.

  1. Broadband internet should be considered a basic human right, in my opinion. I hope you get things worked out. Like my grandpappy says: “you vote with your money, or you vote with your feet”. If you have another option, take it. And let Tata know why you did.

  3. yesterday, i recharged with 3 add on vouchers worth 50, one top up worth 50, and one night talk voucher of 75 from a dealer of TATA INDICOM.i knew that the 75 rs voucher gets forfeited if it is recharged before the add on voucher, thats why i sked the dealer to first recharge with add on vouchers of 50, but he first recharged with 75 voucher which ultimately got forfeited at the same time, when i called up customer service, one of the agent said that the “75 rs” voucher was active, but i was being charged normal call rates instead of voucher package rates. this is a proper way to misguide a long time customer and forfeit their money with no mistake of theirs. tell me to whom should i go now?????

  4. i am practicing chartered accountants i shifted my office within the one kilometer from the old one. at inquiry on nearby 15tdh april 08 i was told that your existing connections at old office period is about to over and you paythe renweal charges then we will shift the comnections at new places,i followed instructins they showed the colours like feasibililty is be varified, pordt is not working persons and persons are not available . etc. i filed nearly 18 complaints with the customer care center on n0.079-60607070 meally per day one complain no results every body is using good words like sorry thank you we have forwared, you applicatins is under process etc. i told that in my gujarat if you will file any complain with evern chief minister in such case will be disposed off within five days you are worst than the govt. depar. we visited the local office nearly seven times no system available there. most funny part is that they report that port is not available but after my request two connectons one nearby my office and just below my office are being alloted. i could not understand why the behavour with the existing customers islike this. in my office i am being chartered accountats have to use internet round o clock and my office work is bieng held up since last 20 days and my all cusoters are also scared with the behavou of the TATA connectns

  5. I am using Tata Indicom’s Broadband Internet Connection. It is giving very poor quality. Since last month its service is very very bad .I do on line business but my Broadband connection is not giving a good quality service, Therefore I am getting loss due this. Since 15 days it is totally closed. My complaint no.is 6298424.

  6. I am using internet broadband connection with night surf facility for the last few years. Now, after recharging for three months, ie. upto 16 Sep2008, june onwards they are charging even in night surf from 2100 hrs to 0900 hrs. I complainted many a times. But they now saying that this was a package of one year. ie. 20Aut 2008 onwards. This was not intimated to costumers. For night surf they were charging Rs. 99. Now they are asking for Rs. 299 per month. After recharging upto september, atleast they should continue the same.

  7. We are running a software company. And there is no need of saying how much a constant internet connection means to us. Right now there is no response from customer service departments. We are facing difficulties in our broadband connection and its damn slow. We informed nodal officer named Ashwin from Cochin branch and he assured of fixing problems within hours by sending technicians days before.Till now no one has been here to fix this. He told that the complaint is of Router.Now also we are not getting constant connection. Right now its getting our daily routine to call customer care executives and Ashwin to record our complaints. No use by that. Nodal officer Ashwin is not at all responding to our phone and complaints. We are now in a stance of removing your connection and proceed further with our re pay. So please take this as a serious issue and fix it as soon as you can.

  8. its been more than 15 days when we got the indicom broad band connection.
    When i first called the agent named “shekhar”.from tambaram east,chennai..he was at my door steps immediately flattering about his GREAT service and kept on buttering us.We paid him around Rs3800 and the connection was established immediately. Since the he left then there has hardly been any connectivity or probably never. We also wanted a sharing connection. Whenever we call him, he says he’s busy in some meeting and promises to fix the problem in half an hour. But it seems his meetings never get over and we haven’t seen him since the day of connection. And the worst thing is he still owe me some money and it seems he’s absconding now.
    I could hardly have imagined TATA employees being so irresponsible and treacherous.I have paid all the money but still am without any internet connection.
    Now is tata going to do something about it?..even I am a TCS employee..never thought other services could be so bad.

  9. Tata Indicome Connection is worst connection. There is no timely service & always out of order. I advice not to take that connection.

  10. I have not come across any worst than Tata Indicom broadband services in my life. They know nothing about what they doing ..These Guys never commit any date as they know nothing. They act like Goonda because they want money without giving any service ..
    I hope some one should take care of them

  11. I took 384 kbps unlimited broadband service. but when i checked the speed it always showing between 150 to 350 kbps. and poor quality. not able to use voip services with this variable speed. not getting proper response from them. i advice not to deal with Tata Indicom….

  12. Before taking up a ISP I decided to have a look at the broadband forums to find the various ISP in Pune

    I took up the TATA Indicom ( wired ) broadband services in Pune. Now it seems all the stories are coming true to me..

    I paid hard cash so that they wouldn’t need to clear the money through cheque.. The guy from tata broadband who collected the
    registration forms told me they require 5 days to install the Cable line.

    Even after 25 days they have not yet installed the broadband. I paid them Installation ( 1000 Rs) + Deposit ( 1000 Rs ) + 1
    months advance payment 1000 Rs + 12.5 servie Tax ( 250 Rs to the Blood and sweat sucking Govt from which Of course there is

    nothing that I or we can expect ) . The total amount came to 3250 Rs ..

    I called the service guy many a times.every time he would say that an engineer is being sent say around 3:30 PM .. then from 3:30 PM I would find his cell phone off till the next day ..

    The month is about to be over for which I have already paid the advance payment..So it seems that my 1000 Rs advance payment
    has already gone down the dirty TATA drain as I have to still go into Cybercafe for internet

    I am planning to cut off the broadband connection as soon as it is installed. My money and time both are lost.. if YOU wouldn’t like to waste your time and send money down the dirty drain don’t never ever install TATA BROADBAND.

    Characteristics of the TATA Broadband services :

    1.) If the TATA guys comes and tries to get cheque / money from you in a hurriedly ( hasty ) manner agreeing to everything you say then he is planning to screw you up your ass at any cost.

    2.) He would tell you that he would install the Cable on the 5 day then he means that install it on the 25th day or thereafter.. Some smarty tata guy would tell they would install the next day or as soon as possible .. all these means the same.

    3.) You would ring him on his cell phone . he would readily pick up the phone addressing you as Sir or Madam and would tell you that he is sending the guy at 4:30 PM .. It means that you would find his cell phone from that time till infinity

    4.) every time you would ask about the status of your connection. They will make excuses that they have lot many connections to install.

    5.) You might not get the Service or the broadband .. but these beggars will send the bill on time, that is for sure

  13. I want to know the speed ratio i.e. 1:4 or 1:8 for the Tata Indicom Broadband infinity 2.5 plus tariff plan
