I’ve always hated logos for restaurants or food that make an animal look the animal is having a good time being eaten. Most of the time you’ll see a smiling pig on a hotdog package or a bull that is having a great time advertising a steak house.
I’m not a vegetarian by any stretch. I’ve just always thought it was weird. It gets even more weird when you have kids and they start asking questions like “Why does that lobster have a knife, fork and bib?”
Obviously, my biggest complaint about this kind of advertising is that, although I like to eat meat, I don’t necessarily want a comical depiction of the critter I’m consuming staring back at me.
I never called these ads “Suicide Food” until I saw “Suicide Food“, a cool blog dedicated to tracking these depictions of animals that think it’s just great to be eaten.

Oh my god. Why does it matter?
Those ads are mostly for kids
anyway. Smiling animals excite them.
So stop getting so wound up into it.

I totally agree with you. People who choose to eat flesh, including children, should know what they’re eating.

ok vego, have you looked in the mirror you have k-9 teeth that means your meant to eat meat. Your talking about the kids? If they see a playfull character for the animals and they don’t have a problem eating them in that context then why would they have a problem eating them in any other way. It is those of you vegos that restrict your children from eating the meat they need for proper nutrition are the ones who are evil and should be held to account for child abuse!
