I hate that as well. Or when they start cleaning while you are still shopping.
they announce it because some people get so caught up in what they are doing that they lose track of time and once the registers are closed out for the night, that’s it… No more purchases being made that day. They don’t re-open them, the drawers are counted out and recorded. And then the employees go home….because nobody wants to be at work when they don’t have to be.
It’s also rude to continue to shop while people are trying to get the store ready so they can go home to their families. Those employees shouldn’t have to stay there all night just because your dumb ass is mindlessly wandering around the store deciding what product will complete your meaningless life.

I am leaving before they close. I understand people go home. But they don’t have to page it every 5 minutes.
@Meaningless … yes you are with your dumb ass. And I also doubt that those 18 years old in SportCheck are rushing home to their families.

The person that had the nerd to complain is at total jerk.
That is the person that should be held up by hi/her supervisor(s) 15 minutes to the end of the day. just as you had finish your assignments as required. not to mention has time to be Office Party Animal. and no wonder have to shop at the last minute.
The Store by Federal Law has the right to refuse to served anyone. and that goes for selfish attitude. complaining about the closing. surely their must had been other people that comply. then of course, it takes types to change their Attitude as well.

Have you ever worked retail? The workers still have to clean up and vacuum and do a lot of things once you (princess) leave the store or business. Same for people who are in other services, like the library. These people cannot just punch out at 5 pm because the clock says so.
Apparently a lot of people have this attitude of yours, so yes, they have to remind morons to get to the counter before the store closes.

I feel that a shop should feel lucky to have a customer going to it, and that store should provide good service, and if it does not, that store should not be suprised if customers choose to shop elsewhere.
