My Biggest Complaint About Sprint Cell Phone Service - Repair Centers Suck

Now I’m sure everybody who owns a cell phone could overload the My Biggest Complaint servers with complaints about cell phone service. Who doesn’t have a cell phone horror story?

I like the fact that I pay the monthly “insurance fee” for my Treo 600, because every time I drop the thing I can get a new one. My beef is that most of those stupid Sprint Stores can’t do, can’t authorize, or can’t even send the phone in for repairs. You have to go to a special Sprint service and repair center. Oh, and they can’t do it over the phone either. The problem is that there are a bunch of Sprint Stores by me, but I have to drive nearly an hour one way to get to the service center. Then, inevitably they won’t have the replacement phone in stock, or can’t fix it that day, so I have to drive back there on another day.

  1. My cell phone went out and l have to bring it to a cell phone repair service center which is miles from my home and l don’t drive. what can l do ?

  2. I took a Sanyo SCP8400 phone in because of the battery life. They said they no longer made this battery, so I was given a MOTOROLA Red Razr.
I found out later that the red Razrs had been recalled, cause of problems getting access to the internet. My phone would not start half of it’s applications because it could not connect. A tech told me over the phone about the recall issue and that it all depended on the serial numbers. When I returned to the Sprint Service Center and told them, they said they had a software upgrade to fix it. Almost 3 hrs later, they finally said I needed a new phone. I got a second REFURBISHED phone, after paying their 55 dollar deductible, and it did not work either. Tomorrow I am returning to seek a solution to this problem, a rep for their Insurance Company told me they would give me a Sanyo to replace these phones. I AM VERY DISAPOINTED IN THE WAY THIS HAS BEEN HANDLED SO FAR.

  3. I pay the monthly insurance too. Heck knows why. I’m currently visiting my parents in Orange County, CA and the only repair center (according to Sprint’s site) is over 75 miles away! WHAT THE HELL?! At my Michigan address there’s one right down the street. So that makes it easy, but the situation is my son just dropped my phone in the toilet and now its not working properly…but there’s no where to get it fixed!!! Guess I’m without a phone for another week and a half til I’m back in MI to get it fixed. FREAKIN THANK YOU SPRINT >.
