My Biggest Complaint About “Skip Intro” And “Skip To Content”

It’s time to dump the tremendously long loading, beautifully presented, completely worthless website splash pages and intro pages.

My biggest complaint about “Skip Intro” and “Skip to Content” links on web pages is that there is no way for me to tell the developer “I just bailed out of your site because you must not have anything worthwhile to tell me in the first place.”

If you’ve got something to say and you’re saying it on the web, you better say it quick because there a hundred other sites out there that might say it better and faster.

So web designers and site owners - do yourself, me and the other visitors you have a favor and drop anything that we might have to “Skip” on your site or page. Think about it, if I might skip it, it must be pretty worthless in the first place.

Give me something useful and give it to me fast.
