Download Squad

July 1, 2007

Download SquadThere’s nothing like having one of the top 100 blogs review you, especially the day after one of the owners gets married. Download Squad reviewed us the day after one of our owners got married and turned a nice quiet, skeleton crew Sunday morning into a +4,000 view day assault on our servers!

This fun site lets users complain! What’s neat about it is the amount of time the developers have put into such an oddball idea, especially its tracking and ranking system.

Zhongg Internet Digest

Zhongg Internet DigestZhongg Internet Digest may have coined the phrase “Complaints 2.0″, and we’re glad to be leading it. Someone once told me, “Wherever you are, if you’re in front, keep going.”

Among the websites we’ve checked, MyBiggestComplaint has the best interface and relevancy to the general public. Even if you choose not to participate, there are a lot of interesting and funny reads out there.

A Startup A Day

June 5th, 2007

A Startup A DayA Startup A Day is full of web 2.0 startup ideas and had a real chance to shred us. Instead, the man behind the curtain, Kevin Leneway, said he liked us. Kevin, a self-proclaimed “Z-list blogger”, even threw in a complaint about those totally overused web 2.0 reflection effects. Kevin also had this to say about My Biggest Complaint:

These guys have done a few things right. First, the complaints that are on the first page are entertaining. My guess is that they pulled a Reddit and did a lot of the initial site content themselves. Note to any future user-generated content site creators - this is a great idea. (Read more of Kevin’s review)

OK, so maybe we have filed a few complaints of our own, but ours are the boring ones.

Think Future Radio ShowEpisode #398 of The Think Future Radio Show had Think Future’s Chris Future saying “… always wanted a site like this … [where you can] bitch about something, or complain about something.” Chris Future - political commentator and rantmaster extraordinaire without the noose of the FCC around his neck does bitch and complain about things rather well all the time on his blog, tech blog, and his podcast which has over 400 episodes in the can.

Chris is also the first major media figure to data mine My Biggest Complaint for show topics by starting off Episode 399 with one of our user complaints about Al Gore not running for President. Go for it, Chris! This is a great idea, you really do “Think Future”.
