That may be what your pope says (or the preacher you idolize), but if it were a Christian nation, gays would be killed, as well as Jews, because you hate both.
America is for everyone who goes about their business peacefully and respectfully. Not for hate-filled bible thumpers.
I don’t want to live under some sort of theocracy, like they have in Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Some people just ignore history, because facts get in the way of the argument. Our nation was founded to prevent religious persecution. Our forefathers were some of the most atheist writers of the day, so I wish people would study history more and listen to TV evangelist a little less.

however, when Bush did not approved stem cell research because it is against god (I cant recall his exact words) THIS WORRIES THE HECK OUT OF ME.
if the USA is making laws thinking of what is pro god and not, then apparently is closed to countries whose laws are based on their holy books.
I think the USA should get rid of anything that is federal that says GOD. not because of different religions (they all believe in god) or because atheist exist, but simply because they should do things according to facts. Apparently “in god we trust” allows them to bomb people.

Agreed. He ran this country very arrogantly and used his bible to back him up. It was his way or the highway.
Anyway, as far as “god” is concerned, how many of them are there? Each religion claims *their* religion is the only true religion.
I know people who might not be enduring pain and suffering had it not been for Bush’s religious disdain of stem cell research. Did anyone challenge him on that?
