Oh really? How are you going to lie to me? Obviously, you must be a much better liar than the liar that did “lie to me like that“. Certainly you wouldn’t risk “not lying to me like that” only to lie to me in some other more easily detectable way.
My biggest complaint about people who say “I’m not going to lie to you like that” is that they’re usually not even as good a liar as the person who did lie to me like that.
