While we’re at it, why bother smiling at the theater? Why bother laughing, crying, responding in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER!? Nobody who made the movie is there, right?
Why can’t clapping be an expression of emotion and appreciation that doesn’t necessarily require an audience?
Actually, I love clapping after a movie. Especially if it turned out to be the best darn movie for the summer. My reason for clapping, is that clearly the director got what he wanted out of it, cause it’s exactly what you were hoping for, and nothing less.
Only retards clap after a movie. It doesn’t make any sense. When you clap, it’s directed at someone. The director can’t tell you’re clapping and neither can the actors, so shut the **** up. If you want to tell someone you enjoyed the movie, then tell them. If you clap, i’ll just assume you’re a dumbass and move on.
Yeah! You go girl!

I clap after a movie and I’m pretty sure I’m not retarded. It’s a self expression - it’s a wonderful thing.

It doesn’t matter if *no one* else is in the theater. Clapping is a sign of respect and approval and it’s the thought that matters.
