Are you one of these people? If so please explain to me why you can’t pry yourself away from the phone for just 5 minutes so that your child has your undivided attention before saying goodbye to you.
I see this all the time when I take my son to pre-school in the morning and I think its horrible. I’m not complaining about talking on the phone while driving to school. These people are taking kids out of the car seat, walking across the parking lot and into the school hallways with the phone stuck to their ear each and every day.
Don’t you want to talk to your child before leaving them in someone else’s care? Who are you talking to and why can’t you wait until after you kiss your child goodbye?

Totally agree: parents who fail to prioritize shouldn’t be surprised when their child/ren grow up with no self-respect nor respect for their parents. If they feel rejected by their own flesh and blood, how are they supposed to adjust to other less intimate social settings?

I read this as “dropping the kids off at the pool”. That would be just as annoying though.

I agree - this also goes for shopping at the store. I see kids trailing their parents several feet behind and the parent is so engrossed in a cell phone conversation they don’t even know for sure if their kids are still behind them.
Also be aware that your kids are listening “really listening” to everything you say on the phone. I heard a little girl at the store yesterday mimicking a phone conversation into a play phone. It was an eye opener for sure.

Their kids will ignore their own kids one day and that’s just wonderful, especially when they wander off into swimming pools and drown while their stupid parents at]re chatting and texting.
