I spend more time looking for my TV Remote Control than any other single item in my life. Sometimes it’s right where I left it, but most of the time it’s not. If it’s lost, I can spend as little as 10 seconds looking for it or as long as 10 minutes. I’m not faulting anyone I live with - at least not in this complaint.
My biggest complaint about this is that this is all so unnecessary. Just about every cordless phone has a page button on it. Why isn’t this standard on TV Remotes by now?

How about because the remote currently does not have a RECEIVER, whereas the phone does?
What would be so difficult about putting a receiver in a remote control? I ask why there’s no page button on the TV remote every time I lose it. This is definitely not something that is beyond our technological capabilities.

Well remotes use IR light, therefor require line-of-site to work. To find it under the couch you’d need to fit it with an RF receiver, which would cost more… probably not a lot more, just more.
I’ve seen keyrings and such with this sort of technology, you just stick it on the remote. Try ebay.

Thanks John, that is a really good idea. I think I might try it!
