We’ve got two cell phones, email, text messaging and Skype. I’ve never been so close to dropping my land line as I am now.
Well, actually I was a little closer last year when my land line was disconnected because of a billing error that turned out to be the fault of the telephone company. I couldn’t have cared less that the phone was off. It took me two weeks to realize there was a problem.
I haven’t had long distance on my land line telephone for a good 5 or 6 years now. I still pay about 30 bucks monthly for, what amounts to, calls from my mom and sister - both of whom have cell phones. So what’s the point and why won’t I drop it?
I’m not worried about the 911 issue and, like I said, I haven’t had long distance on the line for years.
My biggest complaint about my reluctance to drop my land line is I could be saving $360.00 a year with the flip of a switch and I won’t do it.
