My Biggest Complaint About My Home Maid a.k.a. MyHomeMaid.com

We had a new tenant moving into our condo in Lakeview and we needed to get it clean. I did a search online and found MyHomeMaid.com… Gave the number a call and asked how much it would be to get the condo cleaned that week. The girl on the phone quoted me $22 per hour.

I said great, when can you come? She responded with “there is a 3-hour minimum”. I said no problem, send her over and charge my credit card for $66. The maid came over and cleaned for two hours (THATS RIGHT! ONLY TWO HOURS, when I agreed to pay for THREE). Whatever, I didn’t care about that… The next day I saw a charge on my account for $132. Called the number and left two messages with no return call so I filed a dispute with my credit card company… The Maid Service then sent my credit card company a fake document saying that I agreed to the charge…

My credit card company ended up saying they would eat the charge. The way the maid service tried to get away with charging to much is just wrong. This is not someone I would ever do business with again… DO NOT USE MyHomeMaid.com!

  1. wow, scary, typical mexican business practice. dont trust the web

  2. Your next calls need to be to the better business bureau and your state’s attorney general’s office……..good luck

  3. Sorry, but 3 hour MINIMUM means just that…..the charge will be for 3 hours regardless if it takes less. I run a housecleaning business myself and I can’t tell you how many people expect to get a house cleaned in an hour! Every maid service has a minimum, that is just the way it works. Some companies charge a “trip charge” which is essentially the same thing. As for the extra charges on your credit card, that is something entirely different, but the minimum is standard.

  4. yes the minimum is standard, my mother has a 3 hour min. and when i work for her… i can get the job done in 1-2 hours but ill throw in extra then: “Do you want me to clean a little outside? sure yea i know it should be extra, but hey, im good at what i do and i got done early, not your fault its mine i joined the marines they tought me to clean.”

try marry maids or something of the sort or go locally owned family businesses they are always good to customers, dont go big they are all about money!

and call the BBB, they will file a complaint and take care of it for you and others, they will let the public know that the company is not trustworthy!
