My friend invites me out with him and his girlfriend to meet up with her supposedly hot friend tomorrow for drinks. Keywords are “Hot Friend” and “Drinks”. Given that information, I’m under the impression that I’m embarking on a blind double date. I’m not down with blind dates, but I am down with alcohol and I am down with getting out of the house and being more social, so I’ll bite.
Oh but wait, this same friend, just one day earlier, told me that he has quit drinking. Oooookay, so why are we going out for drinks?
Oh but wait once more, today he tells me that this chick I’m supposed to meet already has a boyfriend with whom she’s eating dinner with before meeting us, and that the boyfriend will be joining us. Um. So I’ve been invited out as a fifth wheel, the token non-white guy who will not be getting laid tomorrow night. Yeah, uh I’ll pass.
This information is more valuable to me up front, not last minute. F this BS.

I think mybiggestcomplaint needs a female membership drive just for you. Maybe if they did that, you could weed through the females more easily because you would know what they don’t like which is the hardest thing to figure out in a relationship anyway. You could check their votes and comments and you would never have to leave your house, work or that uncomfortable train you can’t sleep on. You won’t run into anymore problems like being the 5th wheel or having to deal with these mastermind friends of yours.
I don’t think they intended this to be a dating site but it could work for you.

I agree, this is a horrible plan. You should not wait until later in the night to meet this girl.
You and your friend should just pick her up at the dinner she’s having with her boyfriend. That sounds more convenient and then she can match both of you up side by side.
If that won’t work, just see if the boyfriend can bring her over to your house early so you can meet her because otherwise you could waste an entire night on this.
Yeah, and then you might get to meet the hot chick’s housemate as well. What’s to lose? Unless of course you’ve got better things to do.
