Thanks to the seemingly non-stop coverage of the Michael Vick case today, I’ve heard several analyst and commentators say “Murdering Animals”.
You can’t murder an animal. People can murder people but we can’t murder animals.
We can execute animals or kill animals, but we can’t murder them.
Murder is reserved for us.

by personifying animals it makes the act sound even more serious.
thanks for this. drives me crazy.
the other one is referring to a dog’s instinctual pack-animal bonding and “loyalty” as “love”, or even worse, “unconditional love”.
love is human.
i love dogs, but diminishing the uniqueness of humanity is inappropriate and unnecessary in evidencing that love.
Yeah I too hate it when animals murder!

Ye are dead wrong, animal’s too can be murdered, wot would ye call it if a neighbor killed another neighbors cat or dog????
Well bugger, should’eve looked at the title before I posted, but to answer that question, aye humans do murder animals,Michael Vick isn’t being punished hard enough as far as I’m concerned, some of the dogs that were rescued from his compound unfortunately are not adoptable but do have forever homes, the footage provided by the press of wot those dog’s were put through is horrific, and the females are actually raped, one even had her teeth pulled so she would not attack or bite the male while it was raping her,aye humans murder animals!

You’re annoying. An uninformed one apparently. This is the 2nd thread I’ve seen your name in, posting in some goofy irish-jargon mixed with shorthand text-speak. Try and post in common language.

Animals can be murdered, by us, that is. But they don’t themselves murder. They are innocent and people who bring harm to them should be innihilated.
