I recently decided to make the move to Mac from PC.
Bought a new iMac from the Galleria store in Houston. Great service from the
sales personnel there. Bought the iMac and walked out with it. Since I’m moving
from a PC to Mac, I needed to have all the data transferred from my external HD
and was told to make an appointment at the Genius Bar and bring my iMac (still
in the box) and external HD in. Was told I needed to be there and it the transfer would
take place while I waited. I was told I had to be there incase there were any “issues”
making the transfer.
Brought the equipment into The Woodlands store at my scheduled appointment time.
Was then told I would have to leave it overnight and it would be transeferred and ready
the next day. The next day (24hrs later) called and was told nothing had been done
and it would take between 24-48 hours for the transfer to take place. Called again today,
(46 hrs after my scheduled appointment) and was told the woman who has been assigned
the task is presently working the training bar and would get to it later today.
Why doesn’t Apple just say, it’s going to take between 24-48 hours to process instead
of having to make an appointment thinking it would be done while I waited!!!
Apple’s not getting off to a good start with me making this change.

you know you can plug your external drive directly in to your mac and drag the files over yourself? why ever did you go with a mac anyway? they are designed for idiots who prefer shiny patterns and nice colours over any actual usability
