My Biggest Complaint About Maintenance Men And Walkie-Talkies

I don’t know about where you work, but where I work we have hundreds of buildings and a large force of maintenance men (maintenance people, staff, technicians whatever you want to call them). They give these maintenance workers walkie-talkies so they can all communicate with each other.

My biggest complaint about maintenance men is that I swear they all must be deaf. Why is it that they all have to BLAST these walkie-talkies at full volume, no matter where they are? 99% of the time the stuff the people on the radios (the other workers) are talking about doesn’t even affect the dude that is fixing the light switch in my hallway. These radio guys are like a bunch of Ham Radio geeks with toolbelts. Honestly, they don’t even need to have the radio on while they are in my building and they definitely don’t need to have it blasting at full volume while I am trying to work. This is not a jobsite; it is a professional office.
