Before this summer (2009) the keyboard and trackpad of my MacBook Pro occasionally stopped. Now it’s completely dead and I found out that one of the cables behind the battery is causing this. When I push on it a little bit the problem is gone. Apple says I can only repair it by replacing the complete topcase which costs a lot of money for just a failing cable. To me it seems a production failure that cannot be put on the consumer. There a several account s to be found on the internet dealing with hte same problem. Because I teach to graphic design and industrial design student I will be very reluctant for the first time of my life to recommend an Apple laptop.
