I recently copied a cd to my itunes library and I went back in to itunes and all my songs were gone. Then it asked me to choose a library when I went back into itunes. I can’t find my songs. I then imported my songs to the blank itunes that came up. I’ve never had this problem before all the years I’ve had it on my computer. I can’t find my songs , over 1,000 of them.

I have the same problem. My WHOLE library just vanished. I don’t know what happened. I didn’t install any programs or anything and I didn’t delete anything. And the iTunes library folder that is still on my system is missing almost everything. If someone knows what happened or what to do to get it all back I’d be oh so grateful. I had a crap ton of music in my library and all of my podcasts are gone too (about 200 or so)!!!!

I just had the same thing happen to my computer. My entire library is gone. I just got this computer and transferred my library less than a month ago. All my files are there, but my itunes library is not recognizing them. What the h*ll.

My itunes library is gone completely.. i have tried those software programs like tansee and it will transfer a song to my library until i turn of my computer (which yes is a sony vaio!) then the library is empty again.. this is a real problem as i am getting a new ipod and have no idea how to get my music to it!

same thing happened to me sometimes in the last couple of months
one day I opened itunes. It lists all of my songs but when I click on one it says “the song … could not be used because the original file could not be found”

I think someone smart needs to identify whether this is an apple software problem and not coming from us (the user side) so that we could possibly enter into a class action suit against apple..Sometimes that is the only way large corporations react to the needs of the consumer..I think the itunes licensing agreement that puts the entire responsibility for the proper workings of our itunes account/library needs to be challenged. A lot of people have permanently lost material because of the application. Anyone care to start a website dedicated to legal recourse??

i am very angry. itunes said it could not sync my ipod because the podcasts dont exist. my whole library has gone. on my docking station i had all of my songs and as soon as i went to plug it into my laptop they dissapeared. i am very angry with a apple but there is no way of emailing them to complain. this is not acceptable and i hope someone will read a message and change this whole thing!!!!!!!

All my songs have deleted like theyre all gone from itunes library someone told me to do the import export step i tried to do it and it wont let me delete my library file ? whats the cause to this help!

iv got and iphone and i found the ringtone app where you can make your own ringtones and i got a new laptop for my birthday so i sync my phone. And then when it done i had none of my songs on my phone then it asked me if i wanted to keep my purchased items so i said yes and i had loads of song i had brough form itunes and i was left with 5 song and i brough a whole ablum and more. and it hasnt even given me that i am not happy about this and if i didnt have an iphone i really wouldnt use itunes because you always have to sync things and then you lose stuff but if you have an itunes account your song shoud say on that account!!!
