So - you’re sitting at a Stop Light and a no other cars are passing through Green and none are in sight. A pedestrian walks up to the intersection, presses the button, looks around and sees no traffic and walks through. A few seconds later the WALK light turns on and you’re waiting an extra 20 seconds for no reason.
Argh.

I normally wait for a few cars to pass before pushing that button, but if someone is coming along too quickly I’ll change the signal on them.

Since there are no cars, why don’t you just drive right thru the red light?
as the walker, I would rather ensure that there is enough time to cross than worry about your 20 wait in your car, sitting, waiting…

I’m not sure where you’re from or how much driving experience you’ve got, but it’s quite illegal and dangerous to drive through a non-blinking stop light =P.
Right…I know…I was kidding…a red light is a red light…
I guess I would respect the walkers right to a safe intersection over my wait time…
exactly—people have become like mindless robots when it comes to traffic lights. Wake up people!
