The “professional team” of the stagers had the audacity on the Sept. 9, 2008 show to go into an elderly woman’s closet and wear her mink coat without permission.
The owner had lived in the house for 50 years and was moved to a hospital, resulting in the need for this house to be “staged” for sale.
This team is anything but professional.

I agree with you 100 per cent. That show made stagers look like louses, having no regard for the homeowner or their belongings whatsoever - hopefully viewers will realize that the majority of stagers are NOTHING like that, and would never act so crassly.

I have a staging company and as an owner I can say that your shows have brought professionalism, validity and a new energy to this industry. I’m impressed and very grateful for what your producers have created. It’s been a refreshing break from the “conflict based” television series that seem to dominate programming.
HGTV has a reputation for shows that are informative, upbeat and humorous, however, your new show “The Stagers” is the most disappointing thing I have seen. Bridget Savereux is irritable, rude and condescending. She is certainly not a good representative of the staging industry and she doesn’t even seem to appear to enjoy what she is doing for a living.
As stagers, we are working hard to build a strong reputation in the real estate market. It takes trust, repoir and confidence for a home owner to accept our services and it IS a SERVICE we provide. If I didn’t know what staging was and saw “The Stagers” for the first time, you can bet I’d never call for help.
Please re-think this programming choice.

This is the WORST show on HGTV. It tries to play on the “reality” format the other networks are pouring down our throats.
The powers that be at HGTV should do the right thing and can this crap.

The Stagers main star, Matthew, is a little obnoxious. I love HGTV and most of the personalities are great; but he needs to go. I would like to consider staging as a second career now that I’m retired, but I would never hire someone with a personality like his.

I think that HGTV is a very good thing considering that it’s my most important program to watch while I am remodeling and updating my home. However NOT liking any of the stager shows they make me tense and I wonder how anyone can do this under such distress Can we just get some good and easy solutions to EVERYDAY situations? I do not need more stess in my life, only simple professional solutions.

I like the show, b/c i want to be a stager and it lets me see what they really have to do. BUT….i hate the “stagers”… Matthew is very rude to everyone that doesnt let him have his way, his assistant doesnt even want to be a stager, she wants to be an actress, and sometimes when he decorates its to his taste, not everyones, and that could cost the homeowner a sell. they need to be more professional, after all the show is suppose to show you there talent and ideas, not there bad attitudes and crazy life styles!!!
