My Biggest Complaint About Greasy Old White Bikers

Greasy Old White Bikers - Grow up

Why is every biker I see on the road greasy, pock-marked, old, white and gray haired? What, aren’t there any greasy old black, hispanic or asian bikers?

Plus whats with the goatee? Trying to recapture their lost youth? They put on this big show of being “bad boys”, when they probably just sell air conditioners for a living. Oh, and haven’t they heard that you can get mufflers for those things? Grow up.

  1. OMG!!!!! you found my ex…maybe you can ask him if he sent any child support yet!!!!

  2. They might be out there, but I don’t see many Asians riding Harley’s.

What you described is definately what I’ve noticed among the Harley crowd. Even the “weekend warrior upstart Harley guys” have the goatee thing going on. I don’t get that either. Seems like they should be getting fashion advice elsewhere.

  3. Ok heres a cool story. We once relocated, where I worked in a professional state office environment. Some freinds from out of town came to visit. As we were driving around looking for a place to have dinner I jokingly pointed out this biker bar and suggested we eat there. The crowd I was with was somewhat firghtened and feared stopping to eat there so we didn’t. A week latter at a this meeting all the people decided to ride their bikes to work. At lunch time guess where they all went for lunch. Yep you guessed it that very same biker bar.

    Go figure?

  4. the last time i checked this was still the United States of America
and if we choose we can wear a goatee, not take a bath as long a we like and ride a bike. have any of you really looked around the biker nation has changed. it now has loads of doctors, lawyers and ceo’s and so and so on. so get of of some of us that have the balls to live as we want and not up to your pathetic double standards. by the way have any of you self rightious bigiots been in the military? i would say probably not and most of you havent seen the inside of a church since you were baptised as a baby. yall need a life.

    FO

  5. yes the biker nation has changed…its getting stupider by the second…count yourself in…greasy old white guys that choose this disgusting lame lifestyle are nothing but wannabe bad boys…is that what this lifestyle is about…serve your country and bible thump…good one…military personnel will attest that biker life is not a prereq to doing your country and community good… keep up the show and one day someone will finally suss you out jerk. PURE UTTER NOISE POLLUTION…what is the goddamn attraction. big bike small balls i tell you!!!

  6. “not take a bath as long a we like”, yeah, thats attractive. And you talking about doctors, lawyers, CEOs proves my point. These people are wannabes - would they give up their cushy “other life”. Never. If you think about it these guys are almost as bad as the geeks who live their lives online through second life, Warcraft. At least they get out amongst real people, I’ll give them that. You missed my point. Stop pretending to be something you aren’t.

  7. I’ll answer the original question…

Only old guys (and gals) can afford Harleys. Do you know what they cost? That is why you only see old folks riding them

  8. its mostly old people because they have had bikes for most of there life, the new generation of bikers(IF you can call them that) get those ridiculous crotch rockets…

now this guy or gal is an idiot for saying they sell mufflers to keep it quiet, the whole idea of a HARLEY is to make noise. granted some older folks like just riding a bike w/ no noise… but if you want a bike w/ no noise get a kawasaki or some ****ty bike

the whole goatee thing is the way these people grew up. some are hippies and some are the old greaser types.
they are not all pushing the bad ass thing.. some just like havening a bike..
your right they probably have a crappy job but people need to make money somehow!! no everyone had the chance to go to college back then.

honestly you need to really think about a rant, BEFORE you post it

  9. hey dude, im only 25, i ride harley since 3 year this summer and loud harley pipes sound like a melody for me so get in your honda civic and enjoy your (supposely)50cent music

  10. HAHA i never laughed more at a blog comment

    blaze your reply was priceless!!!
    and
    true!!

  11. All operators insanely loud motorcycles should be taken into custody immediately and subjected to a 72-hour sleep-deprivation (just so they can get a taste of the effect they have on entire neighborhoods, the sleeping baby, sick parent or shift worker. On each subsequent violation, the sleep-deprivation treatment is extended by an additional 24 hours. This guarantees that individuals who re-offend 3 or 4 times are either driven insane or it kills the bastards. Preferably the latter. It`s getting worse every year and I`m getting too old to fight these jerks anymore. It`s just a sad state of affairs.

  12. I can’t believe you people have nothing better to do than sit on your asses at your computer and judge people based on their looks.
The Biker community for the most part are decent, hard working people with hearts of gold.
We not only ride for our love of motorcycles, but many times we ride for other people.
I can’t tell you how many charity events my club ride in every year.
Children who are sick, first responders on 9-11,
breast cancer, autism the list goes on.
You people need to take a long look at yourselves instead of us..
When is the last time you did something for a worthwhile cause ?
And as far as the loud pipes, we need for you bozos who could give two ****s less about us that we are there so you don’t cut us off and kill us… remember Loud Pipes Save Lives !!!

  13. I am not going to attempt to sway anyone one way or another. However, I feel as though I should make a comment as I am a not-so-greasy, not-so-old (39 yrs), gray haired (if I did not shave my head) guy…..who, Yes, very proudly rides a Harley. The Biker community is like any other community. We have some fine upstanding members that do the right things even when no one is watching and like any other community we have some folks who are bad seeds and take pride in that (although I do not understand why). I have agreed with some aspects of many comments made here. Yes Harley tend to be loud. Yes biker tend to look alike to the casual viewer. However, EVERY community has traits that people outside of that community would find unusual, annoying and even stupid. It is just as much the right of those people outside of the community to have their opinion as it is the right of those inside of the community to continue their practices as long as they do so within the limits of the law. Before any one draws any opinions about me let me add that as a profession I am a United States Naval Officer that has served in both the Enlisted and Officer ranks for the last 20 1/2 years. Oh….and I happen to be African-American. I know that some people will dislike my Biker lifestyle. I know that some people will dislike me being a Black Biker. I am OK with that. This Bald headed, tattooed, Harley Riding, noise making, old, grey biker has spent the better part of my adult life serving OUR country and defending YOUR right to think anything you want about me…….and I would not change a thing.

    God Bless Us All

  14. Well putting my $.02 in on the subject. Yes im old and grey,(shaved head mustache only) ive been riding a motorcycle since 1971, 1st bike was a Honda kept it a year and bought a Harley in 1972. I spent 27 years in the Navy riding submarines protecting this fine country. We all have the right to do as we please, with the limits of the law. So if someone decides not to shower, or decides not to shave so be it. If you don’t like it don’t look, if we smell bad, stand up wind whatever it takes. Ive seen a lot of unshaven, unshowered people who dont’ ride a motorcycles that i don’t care for but you won’t hear me snivel about them. So lets not paint all of the Harley riders with such a broad brush. So if I offend you ,deal with it,maybe you offend me as well. Its time to put you big boy pants on and quit your whinning. Perhaps we all need a group hug….oh wait let me go shower and shave first….NOT..!!!!

and damn well proud of it..!!!!

  15. Well said Bill !!!! Spoken like a true Master Chief ! ; )

  16. Dude. I never said anything about smell. I’m sure most bikers smell great. Old Spice, Axe maybe? I’m all for people doing whatever they want with their lives. It’s when they scare the crap out of my kids and blow out my eardrums on a quiet Sunday morning cause they want their “pipes” heard across the freaking city that they are intruding on my space. Do what you want with your life, just leave me out of it.

  17. I am an asian biker my self, I was raised and born here so no im not ur stereotypical math geek computer club asian and i do ride a chopped up cruiser and no im not 50yrs old im 26.I ride on a daily basis been riding since i was 10. Where are all the other asian bikers? Every other asian dude i know rides a sportbike.

  18. dear J my respect!!! i would be glad to ride with you someday

  19. The funniest thing about all the Harley dorks posting here, the pic that started it all is a guy on a Honda Shadow Spirit 750! At least he has enough good sense to buy a reliable bike instead of Harley Trash.

Chrome won’t get you home boys!

  20. YOUR MAMA weestromrider! I am a Harley rider! I hate to tell you, but I have ridden from South Carolina to Maine and back, several trips to OHIO from South Carolina, the Black Hills South Dakota, And Key West. My bike is reliable ASS NUTS F***TARD! All you metric riders with envy say Harleys are unreliable to make yourselves feel better about riding a Jap bike. Get a real job, save your money, buy a Harley, ride it and then talk trash about it.

  21. right on sarge ,buy american and the job you save might be your own,Harley Davidsons are the most wanted bike world wide welcome to 2008 ,

  22. And to the person that started this stupid post does it mean you like young greasey bikers

  23. Well…….seems there are some biker haters out there! I dare ya to stop an Outlaw, or Warlock, or one of the many others, and talk that crap to his face. Pick one with a 1%’er tat! Send pics!…well…..get someone else to stand away a bit and take pics…cause you will more than likely be in a coma for a while, if your lucky. Even if he is old, he was probably a Marine, or something, and can beat you sensless.
I own a 2008 Softail Deluxe and a 2008 Nightster, have ridden my entire life, and I am 38. I see more people with thier pants hanging around thier knees, with radios so loud you cant get gas without earplugs, now thats a complaint worth posting.

  24. I dont care about all the noise and the lifestyle so much. I just think motorcycles are inferior to 4 wheeled transport. I kind of like all that glass, steel, fiberglass and plastic that surrounds me when I’m in my car. It tends to protect me better in the event of an accident more than leather and a helmet. If you however prefer to up your odds of being mutilated on the highway, by all means ride that stupid bike. On second thought, I actually love bikers. I have so much fun behind them, seeing just how close I can get my front bumper to their rear tire :) Bikes are stupid, inferior, and dangerous. Small machines used to transport 1 or 2 people is not that impressive. Actually, cars in general are not that impressive. Vehicles are dull… The whole idea of a community based on a vehicular preference seems kind of lame. People are lame… unimpressive creatures.

  25. I keep a pocket full of small ball bearings for assholes that ride too close.

  26. And a .38.

  27. I can’t believe the cry-babies that have responded to this post. I hear complaints about the noise our HD’s make. Personally, I feel the only way a cage won’t roll over me is if he hears my pipes first (which are loud) - however, I don’t rev and create hate and discontent unless I believe someone doesn’t see me. Then I blast my pipes - and it does indeed have some intimidation to those who would have otherwise run right into me.

I work for IBM, but have been riding motorcycles since I was 14 years old. I served 8 years in the Navy, have tattoos.have a grey goatee and go to church every week. And I’m here to tell you, if you don’t like the way I look or sound, the problem is with you, not me. My wife rides too, and although she doesn’t have a grey beard, she could probably whip any of you snot-nosed Yippee’s that complain.

I also ride with the Patriot Guard Riders, where many of us are “old white bikers” - but our fellows are of every ethnicity. Most of us are vets, a lot of Nam. You want a challenge, ride into our group and spout your narrow minded convictions about us being greasy and grey. See if anyone agrees with you in that crowd.

Lastly, if you want to complain, how many of you take part in creating or modifying the rules you are using to slam us with? Do you write to your elected officials? Are you in a forum such as the AMA to voice your grievances? To complain in a forum like this is spitting into the wind, unless you are willing to take an official stand.

And yes, I belong to H.O.G., my local HOG chapter, and the AMA.

  28. AMEN Qsysopr. AMEN.

  29. The goatee (beard) helps to keep your face warm in cold weather.

  30. People are afraid. Fear is one of the greates motivators that exists. People ride a harley thinking it will somehow make them less afraid. It will make them appear as someone special. Someone that should be feared and respected. They feel tough. It really is sad.
It you want to be tough, try livng your like with meekness. Realize you are not special, we all are one, and we are all in this together.
Someone who can accomplish this is the true “badass.” Put away the Harley crutch.

  31. I am feared and respected! I am not afraid! Its people like you that sit and talk ****. FEAR KEEPS YOU OFF A HARLEY. FEAR KEEPS YOU IN YOUR LITTLE ARMCHAIR TALKIN ****, ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE THAT HAS A SET OF BALLS.

  32. The old guy does what he wants because he is free, so F*** OFF.
An old 53 year old on a 97 Harley with loud pipes so people like you will not hit me. No flag waving or bible thumping, just my finger riding past you.

  33. First I am a veteran, served in combat in Asia, got tagged 2 times while there, I have been riding for just over 37 years, I have owned just about every kind of bike mostly out of curiosity. I have 2 HDs one a 1950 Bobber for 34 years, 1 a 2003 FLH, 1 1967 Triumph Chopped for 26 years, and a 2005 Yamaha Road Star.

I have had everything in the way of a cut hair free of charge from the USMC, to the 7 seven years after I got out of the service with no hair cut or trim of facial hair. I have gone several weeks without a shower, but nobody complained in those days we were more worried about running out of ammo, or ending up stinking the stink of death. Since those days I worked as a Machinist, then Tool and Die Maker, and eventually due to incapacity for several years from a bike accident went to school for Mechanical Engineering. I have worked in Aerospace since I got out of the service and owned a Custom bike shop specializing in performance engine mods and custom frames. Now I am a Flight Safety Engineer for an international aerospace corporation, making sure you and your families are safe whenever you get on an aircraft.

I have long hair and a beard, kind of person who has been told by people to grow up, clean up, and by many to get a job, of course these people don’t know me, and I am sure don’t want to know me or they wouldn’t come off with this type of attitude. I have raised three great kids, who started riding mini bikes as early as 4 years old, they started swimming then also, there all still doing both when they get the chance. Two of my Sons are in the service, one USAF (F-16 Jockey) , the other USMC (In Iraq), and my Daughter the youngest is graduating from college this May.

I belong to a club for 31 years; by the standards of some writings I have seen here some would say we have a cross section of members, some good, some bad, but all brothers in our eyes and we stand behind each other, or if necessary in front of each other.

I don’t judge people, and don’t have a formed opinion of anyone; I let people teach me what they are about through speech, and deed. If I don’t like you I’ll walk away from you and that will be the end of it, for those who can’t deal with that, I have dealt with them as necessary within the guide lines of their attitude/actions as I perceive it to be, or by how much they can’t deal with it. This posture has put me in the hospital a couple of times, but the offender was always there also.

My point is, it is a free country, and a lot of people paid a heavy price for that freedom, Hell I (we) am not about scaring kids, or even you, if my bike is to loud for you or anyone else I am sorry, no I really mean that, I’m a Dad and I have gotten pissed off when something, or someone scared my kids, but when I got a chance I would explain to them why there is nothing to be scared about, noise is noise, people are people, freedom is freedom, and there is nothing to fear, but fear itself, anything less wouldn’t be the good old USA.

There is an old saying “If you don’t want to be judged don’t judge others”, or “I WON’T F#CK WITH YOU, IF YOU F#CK WITH ME…etc” well if you have any smarts you can guess the rest.

So ride, drive, fly, run, walk, crawl, or whatever you and your loved ones do to get from point “A” to “B” in peace and safety, and don’t judge/F#CK with strangers because if you start up with them they may be willing to deal with you in a way you will not enjoy.

On that note my Old Lady and I are going to take hot shower together, aint life grand.

  34. take it from a young gresey white biker. dont **** with the ogs you dont know where they came from. mabe they sell air conditioners now. but there knuckles hurt from kicking punks like you a@#es. so have some respect. loud pipes save lives.

  35. With 40yrs of riding I’m retired and now ride a tuned Harley because I’m alive and loving it - I only open it up out of town, nothing to prove with showing off. I find it hard to believe you yanks who produce such an awesome feelgood machine can also spawn such a load of whining dickheads(whose best part dribbled down their mummys leg on conception) who feel safe behind their keyboards to spout such anal whitterings against bikers but in real life keep quiet in their presence

  36. I am proud to be one of those Greasy Old White Bikers. I have been riding Harley’s for almost 50 years and still own 4 Harley’s, 2 Shovels and 2 Evo’s. I have worn a beard for 50 years because I am fair skinned and it keeps my face from getting sunburned.

I ALWAYS have loud pipes on my bike because they have saved my life quite a few times. Have any of you cage drivers ever hit a deer? Imagine hitting one on while on two wheels instead of 4 wheels.

I wear leather when I ride. It’s not for the looks, (although I love the look of my OLD black leather jacket) but I have laid my bike down numerous times and can attest that you only need to have a nurse take a scrub brush to your bare skin ONE TIME, trying to get the black top out of your body, before realizing a good heavy leather jacket, chaps and boots are easier to replace then skin.

I ride an average of 20,000 miles per year and ALL of it is open highway and back roads all over the country. If you have never been on a bike, where your senses come alive as you feel the wind, experience the temperature differences from one second to the next because of air pockets, smell the entire range of fragrances that nature has to offer, see the blue sky, mountains and colorful leaves off in the distance or experience all the other aspects of nature without looking through glass and being cooped up in a miniature bubble, you have no idea what real freedom or living life to the fullest is all about.

My only hope for the future is that when my time is up, I will go doing what I have loved my entire life, with my boots on and my butt in the saddle.

  37. I forgot to mention, the reason I wear my hair long, is so I can keep it in a pony tail and the wind will not blow it all over my face when I ride.

And the reason I look dirty and may smell at times is because of all the dust, rocks and other crap coming off the highway, plus I carry a tent and sleeping bag so I can stay at campgrounds instead of motels.

THATS WHAT LIVING REAL LIFE IS

  38. Hey, I’m one of those old farts who ride, have been riding since 1970. You my not like my lifestyle, but maybe I don’t like YOURS either. And just for everyones info’ the ol dude in the picture isn’t even on a Harley’ it’s a rice burner cruiser.

  39. All of you talking $hit should leave your name and address! If you have time enough to sit around bashing people, you have to kiss my ass…….be constructive, smooch it.
