Google has released “Google Sites” which is apparently a way for people to get super crappy looking websites really fast. I have to give a bit of disclaimer here, this may be an amazing product… I don’t know, I haven’t tried it.
Why am I complaining about it without even trying it? That’s my biggest complaint about Google Sites really, is that I don’t even want to try it after looking at the horrible example sites displayed on the signup page.
Google is known for being sparse, I mean come on, they’ve made billions off of text ads and the most bland search engine results page you’re ever going to see. Ugly works for those apps. But websites this horrible? Again, they may not be this horrible but I haven’t seen crappy looking sites like this since geocities.
