It’s 2008. Football at any level, even high school, is huge money. Can’t they get kickers the same color shoes by now?
Nike will make anything for anybody. Why won’t they make a kicking shoe the same color as the other shoe. Why don’t they sell kicking shoes in pairs - one shoe that has the special kicking thing or feel or whatever makes it magically delicious to kickers, and then the other could look just like it but be a regular cleat.
My biggest complaint about football kickers with two different shoes is that I’m pretty sure Nike or any other manufacturer could do this but I think kickers just want to maintain a separatist, dorky role and having one black shoe and one white shoe just helps set them apart from the real football players.

I think they wear them because they don’t want the other team to mistake them for real football players. That way the other team won’t hit them. It’s like wearing glasses when playing football.
Im from Patterson High and i kick field goals and extra points too and i wear a Nike and a Ridell. I dont really no y we wear 2 dif shoes…i jus started wearing 2 dif. shoes my Junior year of high school…im not scared to get hit or tackle someone on the opposing team either….i guess u can jus say its jus a fashion that kickers have…it could b that the other shoe might b a lil bit more comfortable…or it might b the the toe of the shoe is more flat than round like the regular shoe….the one i kick with is more rounded off than the nike that i have on the other foot…

The reason they wear to diffrent shoes is the fact that the black shoe one is not a cleat. in fact its a shoe it has a regular tread. it help his foot slide across the ground with out the knobs of the cleats catching the ground and slow his foot down. The more speed the more distane get it.

OK, I can understand why one shoe would be different from the other. But that does not explain why they are different colors. Can’t they tell a right shoe from a left shoe?

Normally the kicking shoe is a soccer cleat. They’re much better for kicking than the big bulky football cleat. They where the football one to get a nice plant beside the ball like me my football cleats are black and orange, my soccer spikes are lime green

I’m a kicker at Coastal Carolina, and I have always worn the same pair of kicking shoes. I never really understood until I talked to a couple kickers who wore different shoes. They all agreed that since the plant foot is one of the most important pieces for a perfect kick, it must be stable; and about a third of kickers wear a heavier more football type shoe to secure their footing. I disagree with what they have to say beacuse I think your footing can be perfect if your mechanics are right. Hope that helped you out.
Mr. Squeaky…pretty funny haha

they wear a soccer cleat on one foot to kick the ball better because its lighter and more comfortable then kicking with football cleats and most kicker started with playing soccer and are use to useing that type of cleat. im a kicker and i play WR and DB too and i wear to different cleats the whole time…it looks funny but people cant talk when you can kick a 55 yard feild goal ias a 10th grader so i do it because no one has room to talk on me. (im in the top 5 in my state) so yeah i wear to different cleats!

they wear 2 different cleats because most played soccer and its more comfortable to kick in a soccer cleat…i am a kicker and i play WR and DB but i wear a football cleat on my left foot and a soccer cleat on my right foot. its just more comfortable, you might think it looks weird out on the feid but you cant say anything because you can do what you want when you can make 55 yard feild goals in 10th grade in highschool so i wear to because its mor comfortable to kick in (im in the top 5 kickers in my state)

Yo I play kicker for Osan American High School and i wear one Nike Vapor Fly and then one of my T90 laser soccer cleats because the the long studs on my plant foot give more traxion. The Rubber rtike zone on my soccer cleats connect with the ball so it doesnt shake or move awkwardly while you kick. Im a sophmore and can consistantly score field goals from about 40-45 yard lines. Im no scared to get hit nor am I afraid to tackle the hell out of another player. The cleats are just preference for the player.

the non kicking foot is usually made so it can plant well for a better kick alot of time this is done by them using lineman shoes or “cement shoes” and the color thing is just for ****s and giggles its just fun, how often in football do you remember the guy you scored a touchdown but you do remember the guy with 2 different colored cleats
