the erectile dysfunction ads irk me. i'm an adult woman, widowed, adult daughers. however, this 'in your face' advertising is so offensive. to me, any others i am watching tv with, just gross. with all the problems in the world, including serious health issues, it seems obscene to be hawking this stuff. anyone with the problem should see thier doctor anyway. i guess the world is a better place as long as every old man is walking around with a big hard-on. 4 hours? too bad, i guess you should admire yourself and enjoy it. life has many stages. why guarantee men this, too?

I am a former Pfizer employee and agree 100% that the Viagra ads don't need to run at 6 p.m. when my young daughters are watching TV. I recall that Pfizer first justified the Viagra ads by claiming erectile dysfunction was a serious medical condition that needed to be addressed. However now the commericials are absolutely about recreational sex and depict some bald headed guy picking up his wife on a motorcycle and driving to a hotel for sex. The ad states that Viagra brings "spice" to your sex life. It is simply disgusting! What happened to the serious medical message about ED? I guess Pfizer had to go after more customers as the ED market got more crowded. The good thing is that viagra will be generic soon and Pfizer won't spend a single penny to promote it anymore. All of a sudden erectile dysfunction won't be important to Pfizer anymore and they'll start promoting some other product on TV. Let's hope Levitra and Cialis will stop their spending war when Viagra vanishes from our TVs.

the 4 hour errection is a serious problem. Most guys who get it are affraid to go to the doctor and it results in a broken unit.

I agree, but I think ED ads should be banned on US television. There is nothing worse than having to sit through them when watching TV with family. Or even by yourself, watching some old cheeseball talk about being able to do his wife whenever he wants is just plain annoying.

And the consult your doctor is you experience an errection lasting 4 hours or more is just laughable.

i don't get how parents can watch any television with their kids. it's a non-stop assualt on their innocence. the ads you mention are actually less offensive than many in that they are presented using language and refrences beyond the understanding of young kids. the average sitcom is far worse, and the "highlights" of these--apparently the sleaziest moments--are shown constantly. this is a culture in serious decline.
