Unfortunately, the world is full of idiot drivers. I remember riding with my best friend and she just switched lanes without even looking, cutting some guy off and then getting mad at him for being mad at her! I didn't ride with her from that point on. Her dad was in the car and he even defended her. She now drives a metro transit bus!!!! What an idiot.
Here's a list of things that drive me nuts.
1. Turn signals. They're standard equipment. USE THEM.
2. Riding the brakes. Driving behind someone who is constantly hitting their brakes because they can't keep a consistent pace between them and the car ahead of them.
3. Careless teens-You all know who you are! Cars are not toys! If I ever catch my kid driving like some of the kids I've seen I'll kill her myself. I won't wait for the inevitable accident she will die by my hand.
4. People riding my ass when I'm already going 5 over. I hate that.
5. People turning left into corner stores where the parkinglot was specifically designed to deter that! Pay attention!!!
I gotta go. I'm getting pissed just thinking about it.

Kev,

Well said. In my comment to the Slow Drivers in the Right Lane Rule (http://mybiggestcomplaint.com/the-slow-drivers-in-the-right-lane-rule/138/), I said something very similar - that we should make our best effort to just avoid the conflict. If that means letting somebody pass you, rather than "being right while they're wrong" by holding them up, then just let them pass you. Likewise with most everything you said (stop signs, last-second lane changers, etc).

I don't get too excited at the straight-going driver in the straight/right-turn lane, since that driver technically has the right to be there, but it still is inconvenient. It's blatant "I'm right, you're wrong" behavior that angers me the most.

I agree with many of your feelings. But..."the person that sits in the right lane at a stop light and is not turning right (!)" Is this in a right turn only lane? Or is a lane in which you are legallyl able to go straight? Or is this a person who can't safely see to trun right and must wait for the light to turn green? This last one is something I think people should take into consideration when someone is waiting for the green. There may be obstructions, like a car that is blocking the view.

I agree with all your statements about the drivers on the road.

But I have found normally when people have to defend themselves against what they are complaining about they are at guilty of doing that what they are complaining about themselves.

Welcome Kev, you are not alone. The roads are completely out of control and they are only getting worse. Unfortunately, it seems like it's something we've just lost total control over.

I've read many of the other complaints about driving that other users have posted and whether the complaint is about speeding, weaving, inattention, whatever... all of the driving complaints have one common denominator and same root cause - a total lack of respect for other people on the road.
