Cindy Sheehan threw in the towel this Memorial Day weekend and I blame the Democrats. Cindy was by far the foremost outspoken critic of the Bush Cheney War Cartel. And Cindy was a real mother of a dead soldier, not one of the many overpaid news personalities that consider themselves journalists, who rant about crap they are so far removed from that they can’t even smell it. How could the Democrats mess this up? Sheehan got front page news about the issue that should (by all rational prognostications) win the Democrats the next election. Heck, they should have been funding her! She takes the hits, they get the votes. Seems like a good strategy to me.
Instead, here is what Cindy Sheehan wrote today, “However, when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I held the Republican Party, support for my cause started to erode and the “left” started labeling me with the same slurs that the right uses.” Way to go Dems.
Her entire piece is worth a read. Here is another tid-bit from it.
“Casey [her son] died for a country which cares more about who will be the next American Idol than how many people will be killed in the next few months while Democrats and Republicans play politics with human lives.”
There are many great people in United States and I love this country. I must say, nevertheless, that I do agree with Sheehan. She’s not speaking for everyone here, but I agree that “as a country” this pretty much sums up most of our members.
So there we have it. The Democrats and liberals alienated Sheehan. The ironic thing is that I should be complaining about everything the corrupt Republican party is doing, but instead I’m complaining about my party of choice instead. All this because of the way the tend to mismanage politically important issues. Why does this keep happening?

wow this is so right about our populace caring more about the next american idol than what is going on in the world. If the presidential election had the votes that american idol does wow what would our country be like?
As far as the libs alienation it is really easy to explain. The libs voted and was in support of this war just as much if not more than the conservatives. This war is a needed evil we are under constant attach by the muslim “extremists” and we cannot give up unless we want our lifestyles to take on a dramatic change. The dems know this just as much as the repulicans do. The sad thing is that we have a country divided on who will be in power and choices being made to keep power or gain power by our idiot poloticians (I mean all of em dems and republicans both). Instead of comming together as a country finding the real problems and solving them its all about what can we do to please the most people to maintain or gain power.
So on this one I commend you Libs who did what was right in this case instead of doing what may have given you the political power. Now if we can just get out leaders ethics on both sides of the isle to mimick and follow this pattern not on select matters but all of the time this country may be able to last another 200 years.
