I am flying business class to amsterdam using Delta miles. i live outside hartford, ct and accd to delta rules they are supposed to inclued a flight from your home city to your international departure airport. my travel agent forgot this and delta wants me to cancel my ticket, pay a feee and rebook my ticket to get my flight. i checked to see how much the wanted to fly, on a scheduled flight 100 miles. yes one hundred miles or about 25 minutes in the air. they wanted $889.00 unless i made one stop—in detroit. then it woud be $449.00 i checked this on all travel websites and it was the same.
i would love to hear the rationale of charging $900 to fly 100 miles when i can fly to amsterdam for less. also why would i want to fly 1/2 way across the country and back just to save $450.00. i would think they are getting too greedy and they need to be boycotted. i am going to take Amtrak form hartford for $29.00 to Ny and a few $$ more to catch the Subway to JFK. less hassle and sure beats getting RIPPED OFF BY DELTA.
