My husband and I recently book reservations on Delta Airlines, we were going to Nassau for our 27th Wedding Anniversary. Our first flight which was to leave 6:00 AM from Little Rock, Ar was cancelled, we were told about 11:00 AM. We had a connecting flight in Atlanta to leave around 10:00 Am. We had to be on standby for every flight that left the airport that day. Finally about 6;45 pm we got one out. We were told by some employee in the airport that the same flight was cancelled the morning before. Since it only had 24 people on the flight we were told that was the reason it was cancelled. Of course by then we had missed all the connecting flights going to Nassau. We had to be put up in Atlanta in a motel and flight out the following morning. It was the worse expeience I have ever had and I always fly Delta but i don’t think I want to fly again for a long time and if I do it will be on another airline. Even though we got a $100 off our next flight I don’t think that was enough to compensate the bad experience and the night we missed at the Sandals Resort. We got back home a day and a half late.

I flew Delta from Cairo to New York and the flight was pleasant but when i got to New York i got a rude awakening the staff members were extremely rude at JFK and not helpful at all from their comments and how they related to me. I was to fly flight DL 1727 and was to arrive at 1130 at night in ATL but that did not happen my flight was postphoned from 8pm to 10pm-11pm to 1130 to 1215 to 1230 to 1 then 1 to 130 to 2 am then they finally cancelled it and set me on a new flight at 6am. The airport was freezing i was not offered a blanket, but was offered cold coke ,cookies and peanuts. I was very disappointed because my son had missed a day of work and missed yet another and i had been flying since 4 am on Monday from NBO. Oh well Delta what are you going to do about this?

Anyone flying Delta these days get what they deserve. This airline is in deep dodo and they don’t know how to effectively run a company. They are cancelling flights left and right to accomodate THEM. It doesn’t matter the reason you have to get to your destination. This should be illegal but they pad congress enough with handouts that they are allowed to take advantage of EVERY customer and not get any punishment for it.
SO the only way to punish Delta is to NOT buy a ticket with them EVER again!!!!!

I stopped flyind Delta just for the reasons stated above. Fly through Atlanta often and it got so bad with me having to layover that I will not fly Delta anymore, tired of sleeping on the chairs or in the floor. Once I was given a voucher to stay in a hotel and it was a roach ranch with torn linens and stinky rooms. NEVER AGAIN DELTA.

I wish I had seen this site before today. My son and another Boy Scout had reservations made in Feb for a trip this summer. We arrived at the airport this morning…only to be told that flight had been canceled for a few weeks. They had our address/phone number/email, but made no attempt to contact us. I am appalled by the lack of customer service and disregard to the passengers. We were able to get a later flight, but the boys had no chance of making their ground shuttle. Luckily we were able to arrange something from many miles away. I’ll never use Delta again.

David, they want you to check the status every second of the day and then check it while on the way to the airport. They are happy to tell you that “YOU” should have checked the status of the flight. I don’t understand how companies get away with some of their tactics. Delta lost me and my husband years ago with their incompetence.

I have flown Delta twice in the past month and both times my returning flights were cancelled. Our last flight was out of Asheville, NC. At first the airport board read it was delayed, about the time we should have been boarding the board showed the flight was cancelled. When I approached the gate agent we were told there had been several announcements made. (Neither my husband, nor I, nor two other passengers heard the so called announcements- guess we are all
deaf?) We then had to fly thru Atlanta. I bought a ticket for a one-stop mid day flight- if I had wanted two stops I could have flown another airlines. I suspect a case of bait and switch. They are advertising flights to suit your schedule- so you book with them- only to be rerouted which is not what you paid for- this happens too frequently for it to be a mere coincidence……………

My daughter was flying out of NYC in May 2010 to Houston TX. Her flight was to leave around 6pm and was only told that the flight was delayed. Well Delta finally canceled it stating that they did not have a crew to fly the plane??? She did not get back to her apartment until 1:30am after this huge mess up. They gave her a flight for the next evening and low and behold they cancelled that one too. She even took an older woman back to her apartment who also had her Delta flight cancelled - the woman had no where to stay the night. Today, June 3, 2010 her friend was supposed to be flying into NYC to visit (on Delta) and his flight was just cancelled too. What is going on with this airline. Are they going under? What good is the compensation of $100. if you can’t really use it because who wants to book flight after flight to be cancelled or not be sure you can get back to where you came from when you need to.

The last 3 times I have flown with Delta they have cancelled or changed my itinerary…once cutting my vacation a day short. I have flown United and Frontier in the past 2 months and noted that their personnel were much more customer friendly than Delta’s. We paid the extra money for a non-stop flight which was then cancelled. Do we get the money back? Of course not! I will do my best to avoid Delta in the future.
