My Biggest Complaint About Decaffeinated Coffee Without Warning Warning Labels

Blaze orange warning labels please

For one week I have felt like absolute crap. Yesterday, I even thought I might have an illness like SADS or something.

My husband offered to make coffee this morning. He then yelled to me, “Where’s the coffee? We don’t have any.”

“It’s right where it always is.” I yelled back to him. He can never find anything but that’s another complaint for a different day.

He yells back, “That’s decaffeinated coffee. Where’s the real coffee?”

That’s it. I’m not sick. I’m not old. I am a victim. I am a victim of improperly labeled decaffeinated coffee.

The bag of decaffeinated coffee mentioned that the coffee was decaffeinated but the “Decaffeinated” was blended into the package colors so nicely, I didn’t even notice.

There is a reason why decaffeinated coffee pots have blaze orange handles and bright orange rims. If I’m driving down the road and I see bright orange cones, I know to stay away from that part of the road. Same with decaffeinated coffee pots. If I see orange, I don’t go that way.

It should be the same with a label on a package for decaffeinated coffee. I’m going to buy your coffee one way or the other. You have two versions of the same coffee for a reason. That’s considerate. Now stick with the universally adopted signal for “warning” or “don’t go there” and stick a blaze orange label on the package so I don’t feel like I need to see a doctor.

  1. I’ve noticed this too!

  2. i agree.. i think all de-caff coffee should have a warning sign on it, like cigarette’s do, that way i kno to stay far away from that unatural stuff.. i mean come on coffee naturally has caffeine in it, and thats the way i like it.. thank u!!

  3. I love Seattle’s Best Henry’s Blend but have you ever noticed that the regular stuff and the decaf packages are nearly the same with the same colors and deisgns? I made the same mistake once. Seattle’s Best - are you listening? Change the color of your decaf packaging so it doesn’t match the regular!
