My Biggest Complaint About Complainers and Their Bad Grammar

I really want to feel for people who have had real scares or issues with a company, person, or product, but it is made infinitely more difficult to feel anything when I can barely understand the broken grammar that is 99% of all Internet posts. Really, does it take THAT much more energy to hold the shift key before you start that sentence, or type one extra letter to complete a word?

for example:
“but the time we got out of the last haunted house i had missed about ten phone calls from daughter, husband which is a over road truck driver in alabama at the time. i called my daughter to see what was wrong and found out what happened.while she was waiting on me and the other people in our party to come to the truck the security guard working made her and her 17 year old leave the parking area in out truck. which put them in ad part of tampa.”
- and -
“he apologized and got on the my cell phone and talked my daughter andd got them back to buschgardens to the front entrance to to pck me up.(yes two kids lost in tampa) he talked to my husband on the phone and apologized to him also.”

Two spaces after a period, capitalize proper nouns, check spelling, maintain grammar and focus on topic, etc. I know this is a dead issue with EVERYONE on the Internet, but bad grammar is my biggest complaint.

  1. I like to think I type all right, but I have noticed when I am angry, or excited and typing something up I misspell quite a few things, or skip punctuation. Capitalization doesn’t even happen when I’m angry, which is usually the opposite for others it seems, they capitalize the whole rant.

I agree with you, it drives me nuts as well.

  2. I agree completely with this.
I was told once by a teacher in 6th grade that “95% of people don’t care about proper spelling or syntax. But the 5% to whom it matters are the ones you will need to impress.”
Really, you’re typing something down, no one but you has read it, but others will. Take a second or two and review it. Not only will others be able to understand you more, but it shows that you’ve actually put some thought into it; that you value your words.
If people value their own words, I (and many others) am more likely to find value in it as well.
How ****ing lazy are people? Is laziness even the issue with them?
