It is a shame that Brett Favre is ruining his name and dragging the Green Bay Packers organization down. Brett had his moment. Actually he had three or four (or dozens) of moments. How many times can you retire, fake retire, return, insinuate that you’re going to retire/return? How many teary-eyed press conferences does one old football star get?
Brett could have gone out with a lifetime of endorsements in hand. He could have been one of the longest most respected football players in history. Instead he’s coming off like a winey little brat that lacks integrity.
I remember when so much was made of Brett Favre’s relationship with his father and how much he suffered through his dad’s passing (I think there might have been “retirement talk” then, too). I didn’t know Brett’s dad, but I bet if Brett’s dad was alive he would have told Brett to shut up and sit down before any of this ever happened. If I was him that what I would have told him. And if I was Brett, that’s what I would have done.
