I think they are nasty, especially with big things attached to them so they don’t “walk away.” All those hands touching the same thing before, during and after going to the bathroom . . . gross.

I totally agree…….they should just keep the doors unlocked..or if they really want to let only customers in bathrooms then they should use those doors that open when you hit some button they press.
OMG! I hate this too! It’s absolutely foul! We have one at my work and I HATE touching it. I try to lysol it as much as possible but it’s still gross. I wash my hands as much as possible when people ask for it.
