My neighbors have two sometimes three australian shepherd dogs that are fenced in a confined area. Every friggin time I go to my car that’ sparked by the fence they bark and bark like they have never seen me do that before. At night every time a cat or animal (maybe possum) or anything happens they bark - ALL NIGHT. My bedroom is very close to the fence. First, you should never ever fence in an Ausralian Shepherd breed like that. They are bred to run fast and free and are extremly bored with nothing to do.
The upside is if there is ever an intruder they will probably let me know.
But it occurs to me why don’t my neighbors hear them? It’s their dogs. I really like my neighbors and don’t know how to approach them.

I think you can always politely ask for them at least to close the dogs at night.
During the day, I think that dogs barking can be annoyed, but they are doing their job, so be tolerant about that.

You shouldn’t have to put up with it, ever. Try talking to your neighbor calmly, and if that doesn’t work, contact the police or local animal control.
Each time the dogs start barking, press the panic button on your car remote (if so equipped) and let the horn sound for a L O N G time. Your neighbors will get the message and hopefully be annoyed as well.

Get a very loud radio and turn it on all night. You STILL wont sleep.. and this time your neighbors can join you. After a few nights I bet they will come to you instead of you having to come to them.
Alternatively you could just approach them and ask if they could do something about it.. if they dont seem to be hearing it maybe they dont know that you are.
My neighbor is like 80 years old are so and you can bet she lets me know anytime theres something bugging her and I respect it and fix whatever it is… but then again theres the 50 year age difference and I respect her like a grandmother.
